    Wonder would he P/ex a LS460?

Pity the satnav/infotainment dated so quickly on the Ls430 .

    Definitely tempted with this retrofit

my only issue with those retrofits is often on these higher end cars you lose so much of the cars functionality, be it some options set in the nav system or things like those rear audio controls. I think this is where the germans shine a bit, even my old e38 , from the factory unit you can get kits that enable iphone use, bluetooth, carplay , DAB, DVB tv etc.. without changing the factory head unit or losing features.

that one controls all the original hardware the old screen supported, full climate, CD changer, original fm radio, even the tape too, well all except the satnav.

For 340 bucks?? Yea right... Try explaining that one to the insurance assessor as you try and get paid for your now burnt out shell that was once a luxury car. AliExpress is only good for dodgy hid bulbs and cheapo watches..

It's not quite that bad, but AliExpress can turn out more expensive than you think. So a trader on eBay, that is within the EU is usually a better choice as you at least have some comeback.

Having said that ... I still have the old crud .. (at the latest incarnation) in my M5. And I have been reluctant to replace it with an android unit.

Throw a dice or something in and much better. The intravee kit fitted to my e38 solved almost all my media needs

oh... trust me .. i have all those bits all in there already. It's the nav system that is becoming prehistoric :) And I even went from Mk2 to Mk4.

That has been for sale for quite a few months now. I posted it a while back. It looks lovely but you're only going to sell that to a serious BMW / 7 fan.

Pretty mad given its worth less than what a bog standard new tractor engine 3 or 5 series will lose the minute you drive it off the bmw Ireland forecourt ...

To you and I, yes, no contest. To a person who isn't a petrol head, that couldn't stomach the tax and will be naturally afraid of maintenance repair bills on a 15 year old car, it makes no sense.

Complete waste of a good car, don't do it.

Would it really be wasted, even if it gets driven 5-6 times a year, and turned over once a month?

Thats a very interesting thing indeed!

Plenty of views in a day too, good interest in it I presume?

I had a thing for slightly odd cars. Some have in hindsight been a questionable and sometimes painful decision (my v6 alfa 166 broke my heart and bank but I never stopped loving it). I bought this one at the bottom of the recession. Many people consider it for contender for ugliest SUV ever made, but I like the looks and it's been totally bulletproof as a family car.
Interest seems good, but is a little mixed. If I can do a deal this week I will, otherwise I'll put it away for a couple of months and deal with it in the spring.

You could LPG convert it to make it affordable to run it on those distances. That be another option.

Interesting, I actually assumed even the regular seat had lumbar adjustment and just lacked the bolster control, hence the button.

But you're right, seems regular seats have no need for the lumbar/bolster button.

It would be nice for me as a parts car, nice to have a separate N62 with only 75k miles on it as a backup, refurbish it completely on a stand and stick it in if needed.

My presumption is it was involved in a crash which required replacement of the seats.......which was done at a cut down price - not a good sign.....

In fact, was this car featured here several years ago? I'd swear I recall making the same comment on a post a good while back - can't be too many 7ers rolling around with incorrect replacement seats.

I’d have thought that maybe the switch panel needed to be replaced and a comfort item was used instead of a standard one.

It would be easy (too easy really) to verify what seats it came with originally via a VIN check

I believe it was that engine from one of them they used in the granddad sleeper build on mighty car mods years ago. Takes well to a turbo apparently :)

I doubt the auto box would take the 500+hp!

One way to find out! Maybe a slightly smaller blower would be sensible. Just checked it there. It was the 3.6 version they used. They called it supergramps for anyone wondering wtf im on about.

That looks an absolute gem. Surprised to see spec like that on a 350 and not a 500
