None of these pictures do justice to Meg Ryan. When I was growing up, Meg Ryan was THE woman. I saw her in Innerspace, Joe versus the Volcano, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail.

There's actually a scene in You've Got Mail where she says "when you read a book as a child, it becomes part of your identity". I think the same holds through for movies, and having been in many of the romantic comedies I saw growing up, Meg Ryan became synonymous with romance and love. And all that ****e.

Anyway I think this post is as much as a homage to the 1980s/1990s as anything else.
