This has a habit of happening to me when I’m opening bottles at work too

Are you taking the p!ss? Shop street is pedestrianised and two maltese running around with no one there were not causing any issues  The car driver was completely at fault. Cars are not supposed to be on shop street. Especially not speeding. Did that go over your head? My dogs had every right to be running around. The driver had no right to be there.

    No they don't.

People that say they did places.

"Yeah we did Cambodia and Vietnam".

The word you're looking for is went. You went to those places.

I use an electric shaver. But I never notice the battery warning light. So half way thru a shave the damned thing dies. I am now sporting half a stubble face and have to wait 30mins until the stupid thing is charged enough to complete the job.

The expression 'reached out to'. Just STOP, you contacted someone, you didn't actually reach out and touch someone. It's right up there with touching base and all the other yuppie twaddle.

I agree with you, dogs should be on leads in public places.

You never said in your original post that it is pedestrianised to be fair. You just said it was 'no place for cars' which could mean any number of things.
I agree with others here tbh re dogs off their leash as my little girl had a huge fear of dogs and was terrorised on a number of occasions by irresponsible owners letting dogs roam free. The lack of concern from the owners to a hysterical toddler spoke volumes of the attitude they have

Parents who bring their very young children to the cinema, because they don't/won't get a babysitter, and the rest of us have to endure them running up and down the aisles and chatting throughout the film.
Let's be clear, most 2 to 3 year olds won't enjoy Little Women, PG cert my ar$e.

And cinema staff who don't oversee such nonsense are as bad.

Open to correction here but I think that the business owners are allowed to use their cars on shop street if it is to be used for business purposes..like delivering stuff to the shop.

When someone sits in the seat facing you on a bus or a train, when there are dozens of empty seats empty nearby. Such unnecessary awks

Shop street is a hugely busy street and at the bottom of Shop Street is a very busy road which tourists aren't expecting and you often wouldn't realise you were on the road until there's traffic beeping at you. I love animals but dogs should be on a leash in public areas. There's a long promenade a couple of kilometers away in Salt Hill where dogs could have a good run or on the beach beside it.

I hate hoovering/vacuuming. In the space of a few minutes today I managed to stub my toe with it, skin a knuckle on a door frame and bang my head putting it back in the cupboard under the stairs.

I think dog owners underestimate the fear their dogs cause to young children.Especially if the dogs are big.

In fairness though, it's usually the small dogs that are the worst. The Chihuahua is probably the most aggressive. I'd trust a big dog over a smaller one any time.

One that makes them so exhausted, mentally and physically, that they don't know whether they're coming or going? Or people doing shiftwork with random patterns? Yeees, I hate them too.

A job that includes working weekends and night duty? Count me in as having one of those jobs!! I can lose track of what day it is, especially if I am on nights!

My daughter always wanted to be a doctor because of a combination of a lovely lady doctor she went to once or twice and doc mcstuffins.
It was a great motivator when doing homework etc.
Then she announced that homework doesn't really matter now as she now wants to be a youtuber :(

I had “ one of those jobs “ . I worked nights while my kids were small so I could bring and collect from school
I would go to bed for 4 or 5 hours and wake from an alarm . Not only did I not know what day it was I sometimes had no idea who I was !

I'm preparing myself to be slated for this but anyway..

People who give you a donation to charity in your name as a gift.

Now let me be very clear that I'm talking about people who would never in a million years give you a gift but who then decide to give out these donation cards or whatever. Ireland is an exceptionally charitable country and a lot of us give our time, money etc to charities on a regular basis and don't feel the need to flaunt it. I always feel (perhaps unfairly) that these donations in your name are just a showy offy look at me, aren't I great exercise. Can't you just quietly donate, without making out it's a gift?

Having said that, getting one as a gift from someone who would ordinarily buy you a present and now feels it's a waste of money when there's so many people in need, well that's absolutely fine with me. I've requested such myself on occasion.

    Yes I know I'm horrible.

Absolutely nothing to do with shift work. It's people on Facebook announcing they're heading for the pub now and using the faux-flakey "what day is it?" bullsh*t.

FYI - *those* jobs = jobs where the business shuts down for over 2 weeks during Christmas / New Year i.e. off from 20/12 to 06/01.

The last part means that they have to take their annual leave when the business closes, whether they like it or not, so not great, TBF.

As for the first bit, I completely agree.

Most of the ones I know seem to like it - I wouldn't. That level of shutdown is way too long though - particularly if you rely on their services.

My employer shuts for three days at Christmas (finish 24th, back 30th) - if I want more time off, I just use annual leave.

Yes they do. Dogs are not allowed roam free, that doesn't mean they can't be off leash.

Not one business was open at half ten in the evening on Christmas day. It was just a gobshyte speeding where he shouldn't have been.
