    Have tried it, Guinness has to be ice cold. Decent, obviously not as good as from a glass.

    Pint chalice glass (i.e. a Stella Glass). Rinse with cold water before first can ( repeat for every subsequent can). Don't dry after rinsing ,just shake off any excess water.

    Pour at normal 45 degree angle down side of glass. Finally, mind yourself, this method will go down easier than a teenager, back-stage, at a Justin Beiber concert!

    I just tilt it and pour it slowly into a clean glass, leveling the glass near the top.

    Don't get freezing them. Lower temperatures just deadens the taste of stout. The reason it moved to colder temperatures was to market it to younger drinkers of colder, popular drinks like lager which most people want to neck without tasting it.

    Right, so I tried 14 different methods last night and I regret nothing. Best method I tried was opening the can fast rather than slow, tilt the clean dry glass at approx 60 degrees and pour slowly. Left a nice head after leaving the can sit for roughly 5 mins before opening. Little Guinness baby has arrived too, weighing in at almost 2 lbs. Father and child doing well

    They sell it here in 330ml bottles as Guinness Foreign Extra Stout. It's 7.5% and quite different to Guinness Extra Stout or Draught Guinness but it's a nice drop. If you do 14 of them in a night, you'd be getting a medal :D

    7.5% is too strong. I like the process of drinking big volumes. The problem with strong stuff like that is that your body gets drunk first and it takes your brain a while to cop onto it. It's a very disconcerting feeling.

    That’s the thing. I know lads with beards, vaping rigs, and cord trousers are into drinking a 1/3 of a pint of triple-hopped Hoppy Ending pale ale over the course of an evening, but there’s something great about volume drinking. Guinness is the perfect beer for the Pintman.

    I’m telling you, tilt, always tilt.

    I really shouldn’t have to repeat myself but a slow pour on an almost flat tilt, moving as required, is the best way to “pour” a can of Guinness.

    Are all the instructions written down anywhere? Preferably in bullet points and some diagrams. PowerPoint would be geeat.

    Emmet has developed a bit of a reputation around here for ‘talking tarmac’. The perfect Guinness from a can is cold but not ice cold as that leads to a miserable head. And I’ve conducted a huge amount of experiments into the optimal pouring technique - you crack open the can, stick it into the glass and slowly lift it out.

    That’s fine with freight Guinness “on tap” but with a can you’d want to be starting at 82 or 83 degrees then slowly tilting down to 45 and moving slowly down from there.

    Go on, J, admit it, the only reason you “dunk” the can is because you’ve got the shakes and can’t do a steady “tilt” pour.

    I’d say you’ve the sort of shakes that Pintman Paddy would throw you a score for a swifty with the “lámh”.
