NXT now officially the 'third brand' and not 'developmental' ???

Is going out on the road like raw and SD every week a possibility now??

Well can it really be the case of no-longer developmental? I mean, something would have to take it's place.
The point of NXT was to have the performance center to trian people but give them actual matches on NXT to learn in front of a live crowd. If that stops being the case. Where will guys have matches?

    Evolve?
I thought I'd heard that the renewed a deal with Full Sail but the details weren't really clear. I think it's expected that they stay in Full Sail with possibly moving to other venues in 2020. Full Sail will remain their home though.

The problem with NXT going Live is that touring gets tricky. Especially when they need to be back in Florida every week. Traditionally NXT have almost exclusively toured in and around Florida. Tickets are cheap and venues are small and generally speaking the bigger names don't always wrestle. That's easy when tapings were done well in advance. They need some major reforms if they want to get NXT touring proper and for it to remain developmental. They're between a rock and a hard place cause you can't have guys like the Undisputed Era wrestling in Armories for pittance but you also need to have somewhere for green guys to get some ringtime and some crowd interaction.

But they are more than colleagues, they are competitors on different brands. I'm sure every announce team on each brand sets out to be better than the others. So it stands to reason that they will call each other out. We've had times where WWE stars call out bad booking on Twitter. Maybe these comments hurt the feelings of the writer who wrote these things. But nobody cares. They only care now because Mauro has a well publicised battle with depression.
Public burials are now part and parcel of the wrestling business. As I said, if Mauro can't handle that, or he has only just realised it, he needs to move on to something else.

Kay lee Rae talking before and after wargames. You can't beat the accent in fairness. I'd say the Americans might find her hard to understand.

Nxt has been really good for ages now and the last week has been fantastic for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,887 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Could they have sub divisions for NXT

NXT elite would be the top guys who appear each on tv

NXT developmental where new stars would train and appear at live events etc and move up then to the main nxt roster

Not sure what way NXT UK fits into this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,285 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

NXT UK seems to be the pre NXT one anyway. Apart from guys who went to 205, which is now more NXT than main roster, I can't think of anyone that went from UK to main roster

NXT UK was created to kill the UK indie scene.

    Yup.
When ITV announced the world of sport comeback WWE were quick enough to push their UK plans a head to try and combat it.

World of sport failed bad. But WWE weren't to know that or more importantly give it any chance.

Sure enough with AEW they make NXT north America live. No such thing as playing fair in business eh. Actually scratch that... no such thing in life actually :pac:

No Mauro on this week's NXT.. He's (at this time) a question mark for next week's show as well.

So Graves made the tweets to stir up tension for the inter-brand war. I was right.

Well it was a pretty ****ty/under-handed way to stir up some inter-brand tension. Surely he could've used his brain, or gone to creative to think of another way to stir the pot.

According to Ryan Satin. WWE employee Ryan Satin.

If you're believing his official line I have a bridge to sell you.

I'm fairly certain if you google the term "Yeet" (as in, "he yeeted him!"), that video will now show up on the wiki page.

Cause I've never seen a better video of one man absolutely yeeting another :P

I miss a good Monty Brown pounce. Keith Lee does a good job of his. Looked like he may have even sent Cole further than planned.

Speaking of Keith, was thinking Bobby landed bad after Keith threw him. But goes to show how good they are at their jobs that even changing partners mid match, it looks like it was the plan all along.

I thought the Finn/Ciampa match was a Number 1 contender match.
I'm liking Finn's overhead kick outta nowhere.

Man I miss Monty Brown he was so good such a pity had to retire.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,641 ✭✭✭RollieFingers

Ace Romero's pounce to Nicomenti sending him flying over the top rope was better than Lee's. Good effort from the big man, though do think it's a bit weird they booked him to lose so soon after his good SS weekend.

What was the story floated about for this?

Should of winning the TNA title, before he jumped ship. Loved him in TNA and was indifferent to Cor Von in WWECW

His sister died and he took custody of her kids or something like that.

Dunno if it was planned but this is now one of my favourite camera shots in NXT

In a really random and strange decision, The Outliers (Riddick Moss and Dorian Mak (FKA Dan Matha)) just appeared on NXT UK
    losing
    against The Wild Hunt.
    No Robbie E though.

Watch garza/lio rush absolutely phenomenal match

    AEW 778K

    NXT 778K

    A Draw.

The over 50's are really keeping NXT in this.

Wrong!! They pulled the same rating in the 18-34 categorie

    Another fine show.

Loved the opener. What a great match, Garza and Rush had an absolute stormer. It was just perfect in length, both men worked their asses off and the finish was a welcome surprise. Rush has been a fine champion and I didnt think theyd move the strap off Rush so soon. That said he looked strong in defeat and Garza was sensational.

Mendoza and Grimes was too short and I would have liked Grimes to go over here. I also felt the timing of the finish was off.

Kai and Yim was fine, nothing special, nothing awful.

While I liked Breezango vs The Singhs, I was expecting more comedy in this segment considering the acts involved. Dango is an arrested development hot cop in doctor form.

Nice to see The Kiwi Buzzsaw go over as Ive no time for the forgotten sons who do nothing for me.

Belair looked well in her match and I felt this was a fine display by both women

The main event was an interesting match, loved the finish all men looked strong and Im surprised they went with Balor here considering hes heel but looking forward to next weeks bouts. But holding off on both Ciampa and Lee makes sense as they should be PPV bouts.

Just saw they had a send off for their ref Jessika as she makes, as Ciampa puts it, the lateral move to Smackdown

She actually reminds me of Stephanie in that video at times

    He’s still a heel

Really looking forward to tonight’s show

Baszler must be headed to Raw or SmackDown.

    that was very odd

another great week and every week there just moving beyond AEW for me since full gear

Nah I didn't find it entertaining at all compared to AEW and if the WWE is now going to be preaching Jordan Peterson I'm done completely with it I don't watch wrestling for that.

I'd put that down more to Nigel just being a bit odd than some new company mandate. Made me laugh because I just never would have predicted it

Just saw Takeover Portland is in Feb and tickets are out tomorrow. I'll be living up the road in Seattle by then so very very tempted to spring for some!

What a stupid **** that wanker in the audience is. Obviously full sail has a niche audience so I'm not sure if this fool is racist or just trying to be a "heel". I'd almost wish it was the former.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,339 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I've seen another tweet with the clip of Io and the quote is "I'm Japanese bitch" because the audience member is supposed to have said "go back to china" or something like that.

That audience is all brave behind a barrier away from a wrestle in a ring, but what I've seen in WWE or Io and her previous wrestling he wouldnt say that right next to her.

Cole clearly believes in fan interaction. The way he dived into them while trying to escape Lee and again this week when trying to escape Balor. Barrier got in the way though. :)

Really enjoyed the last few weeks of NXT. Some cracking matches, really liked the opener on this week's show, and, although I don't think the main event reached the same level of some of Baszler's other title defences, it still had that feel good moment at the end.
