Every year what I presume is a Christmas card comes to our house for the old lady over the road, so every year I drop it over. Could she not tell whoever sends it the correct house number? Bah humbug!

Got an email earlier about the conferring ceremonies for January in college. Among the courses listed for a January graduation is mine :( which means I most likely won’t graduate officially until 2021 and it being January of course the weather will be shíte so there goes any chance of getting decent pictures :(

It’s disruptive to have job-hoppers working with you.

Bus home was absolutely rammed, I was literally standing beside the driver. He stopped in Rathmines to let someone off and a woman with a buggy tried to get on, then went absolutely MENTAL when he told her there was no room. I know I’ve given out before about people standing when there’s seats and not moving all the way back but it was like frickin sardines the whole length of the bus. She told him he should have put people off to let her on.

This time of the year there seems to be a lot of charties/causes leaning on people.
Passing through a local very small village today, I saw 3 posters for 3 separate fundraisers coming up over Christmas all in the same area.
I know all causes are deserving etc but it does get tiring trying to decide which is most deserving and appropriate to me to support.
I was asked directly recently to sponsor a non registered charity (ie a fundraiser someone was doing privately for a cause). I was really annoyed by the direct approach and I think people should just advertise their cause generally on a poster or social media page and not push a sponsorship card or book of tickets at someone directly.
I remember as kids in primary school, there were always charities using school kids to go door to door to get sponsorship for them. Thankfully those are outlawed now.

In the wake of the exit polls, sterling has now soared and I'm going to the UK next week. I knew I should have bought some before now.
On the plus side though, I'm enjoying John Bercow on Sky news, in more ways than one ;)

There's a woman living in my home area. She always looks glamorous but elegant. Saw her the last day I was in town and someone remarked "I'd say he (her partner, older gentleman) makes her dress like that. "
Like what? Nicely? You would see past it if she went shopping in a catsuit and thigh boots. I can't exactly pinpoint what feels so wrong about his mentality but it got my blood up.

TA being the responsible grown up child in my family. Dad's car broke down this morning so I helped him out with some cash to get it sorted. Meanwhile there's my 40 year old man child brother living in their converted attic for f*ck all rent, with a 171 Audi to drive himself. I feel sorry for Dad having so little at his stage in life but also annoyed because if he demanded decent rent from his waster son he would be ok. Of course, man child can't help them out (not that they would ask) because he is paying off all his loans to fund the cars, holidays and general lifestyle that he simply cannot afford. I know I should take a hard line but my parents are old and I feel it falls to me to help them. TA I have no spine when it comes to family!

You're not alone,my parents are in their 70's and dealing with a 41 year old man child who also has an alcohol addiction and is nasty to my parents :(.

I paid €8 for next day delivery on an order I placed on the 4th of this month, its still not here and they're blaming the storm. I've asked for a refund on the delivery charge and they're refusing, saying its only a guide, not a guarantee.

TA'd I have two parties this weeked and nothing to wear, and I've paid €8 more than I should have for the privilege of being inconvenienced.

Is it a parent/ son thing? I know if I behaved the way he did they would have something to say about it. He literally takes responsibility for nothing, and could not care less about his family. All he cares about is his stupid car that he changes every year and his holidays. The house could be falling down around my parents and he wouldn't even see it. God I hate him :(:(:(

The custom of handshaking needs to die out.
I don't do it, ever since my girlfriend had leukaemia and had to be protected from cold and flu germs.
We all pick up germs on our hands in between washing.

It clearly offends some people if their outstretched hand is ignored, but I can't be dealing with justifying myself on this.

Drivers of slow-moving vehicles who don't pull over to let following traffic past, even where there's plenty of places to do so (hard shoulder; entrances etc).
