Chance for Juve to go back top tomorrow if they can win at Lazio. The home side can put themselves in the title mix with a win. Massive match.

Another disappointing draw for Napoli. 9 games without a win for them. Ancelotti under mounting pressure.

    Teams for Lazio vs Juve:
Lazio XI: Strakosha; Acerbi, Felipe, Radu; Lazzari, Milinkovic-Savic, Lucas, Alberto, Lulic; Correa, Immobile.

Juventus XI: Szczesny; Cuadrado, Bonucci, de Ligt, Sandro; Betancur, Pjanic, Matuidi; Bernardeschi; Dybala, Ronaldo.

Juve take the lead through Ronaldo.

1-1 as Luiz Felipe equalises. Good game, this.

Great chance for Juve as Acerbi and Strakosha play themselves into trouble but Dybala can't finish. Little over twenty minutes to go.

Juve down to ten men as Cuadrado gets sent off for fouling as last man. Ref initially gave the yellow but changes his mind after a VAR check. Think red is the right call.

Great chance for Lazio to push on and get the win in the final twenty.

2-1 Lazio! Milinkovic-Savic with nice control and finish.

Now a pen to Lazio as Szczesny fouls Correa. Great pass from Immobile who will take the pen.

And Szczesny saves it! Fantastic double save from him. That was the match right there.

Immobile thought he'd won another pen. Bonucci with a clumsy challenge. Think he had a case but nothing given.

Caicedo seals it! 3-1 Lazio. Szczesny with another big save, this time from Lazzari but Caicedo converts the rebound.

Juve's unbeaten run in Serie A is over. Means there's now 3 teams in the race. Inter two points clear of Juve who are three points ahead of Lazio. Great game.

Great title race developing, shame Inter couldn’t beat Roma. Lazio looked very good today. The first goal they said scored was a cracker.

Don't worry there will always be a penalty or a disallowed goal to help juve on ther way, don't like inter for how they handled the corea della sport Black Friday column lazio probably enjoyed it,

I reckon inter are the most talented team on paper of the 3, lukaku is not that bad and suited to the Italian game, Martinez is a top player , barella looks quality too in fairness for 22

Fiorentina so frustrating. Think that's 4 losses in a row for them now. Was hoping they would challenge for Europe this season. Montella in big trouble unless he gets some results soon.

I have never understood why some clubs re-hire a manager they previously sacked, especially when the exact same manager was also again subsequently sacked by yet ANOTHER TWO clubs. Some football clubs really do deserve all the trash they see on the field

    Napoli's new coach confirmed:

Interesting appointment. I think 4th is doable.

Losing start for Gattuso at Napoli as they lose 2-1 to Parma in the 93rd munute. Gervinho played well.

Badly needed win for Ranieri in the derby.

How is Mil-Savic playing this Season?

How is Mil-Savic playing this Season?

Looked like he was getting close to his 17/18 form with some nice displays a few weeks ago. Still not quite at that level yet though.

I’m a Man Utd fan....have to say I think we dodged a bullet in not signing him in Summer after that good season.....he was anonymous at World Cup last year.

Milan unlucky not to beat Sassuolo. When I saw it finished goalless I assumed they were poor again, but watching the highlights they were all over them. Leao hit the post twice and Sassuolo keeper Pegolo had a strong game.

Verona vs Torino highlights are worth a look. Torino were 3-0 up before Verona got 3 late goals to grab a point.

Juve back on top after beating Udinese with Ronaldo getting two goals. He was very good today and unlucky not to get a hat-trick. Woodwork denied him. Thought his first goal was very nice.

Inter away at Fiorentina next, looking to go back on top. Going to give that game a look. Fiorentina been awful of late so you'd expect an Inter win, but who knows...

Inter held to a 1-1 draw at Fiorentina thanks to a brilliant goal by Vlahovic in the 92nd minute. Conte will be gutted as Inter should have got the second goal and put it beyond doubt. Lukaku was denied more than once by Dragowski.

Means Inter and Juve are level at the top on 39 points.

That's one of Lukaku's biggest issues, he's just not clinical enough in front of goals. He should of had 1 or least 2 goals tonight.

Wastefulness in front of goal is really costing Inter recently, based on the highlights they easily could have thumped Barcelona (albeit a very weakened team) to go through in the Champions League midweek only to end up in the Europa league instead. The good news is they are creating the chances at least.

Serie A as a league really don't help themselves at all

I will be fascinated to know what the thoughts process was

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,643 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

I read a BBC article where they explain what the idea behind it was:
At a news conference on Monday, artist Simone Fugazzotto, who always uses monkeys in his work, said: "For an artist there is nothing more important than trying to change the perception of things through his own work.

"I decided to portray monkeys to talk about racism because they are the metaphor for human beings. Last year I was at the stadium to see Inter v Napoli [a match in which Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly was racially abused] and I felt humiliated, everyone was shouting 'monkey' at Koulibaly, a player I respect.

"I've always been painting monkeys for five to six years, so I thought I'd make this work to teach that we're all apes, I made the western monkey with blue and white eyes, the Asian monkey with almond-shaped eyes and the black monkey positioned in the centre, where everything comes from. The monkey becomes the spark to teach everyone that there is no difference, there is no man or monkey, we are all alike. If anything we are all monkeys."

Serie A chief executive Luigi de Siervo said: "The League's commitment against all forms of prejudice is strong and concrete, we know that racism is an endemic and very complex problem, which we will tackle on three different levels; the cultural one, through works like that of Simone; the sporting one, with a series of initiatives together with clubs and players, and the repressive one, thanks to collaboration with the police."

    https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50814275

I wouldn't blame the artist in this case if he tends to use monkeys in his work, but very stupid of Serie A to not see the potential for this to backfire.

Dramatic game tonight in Serie A as Cagliari blew a 1-0 lead by conceding twice to Lazio in stoppage time.

Jebus I turned off the tv 6 mins into extra time, did not see Lazio scoring a second goal.

What a unbelievable result, this Lazio team are some group, you can you see how cohesive they are and that never die spirit

Really great to see Juve have some competition to their crown

I'm thinking it's "we are all apes", but of course the context of racial abuse and the history of it ... hmm maybe not the best direction to take..

Exactly... it works as a standalone art piece in a gallery, but as something affiliated with - and commissioned by - the Italian FA as a mainstream anti-racism campaign, it's utterly idiotic.
