Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Munster:
    Shane Daly; Calvin Nash, Sammy Arnold, Dan Goggin, Alex Wootton; Ben Healy, Nick McCarthy;
Liam O’Connor, Rhys Marshall, Stephen Archer; Fineen Wycherley, Darren O’Shea; Jack O’Donoghue (C) Tommy O’Donnell, Arno Botha.

Replacements: Kevin O’Byrne, James Cronin, Keynan Knox, Jed Holloway, Conor Oliver, Neil Cronin, JJ Hanrahan, Rory Scannell.

All eyes on Ben Healy as he makes his first start for Munster at flyhalf. The bench is a little bit stronger than I expected with James Cronin, JJ Hanrahan and Rory Scannell included.

Stephen Archer makes his 200th Munster appearance.

That Edinburgh team is very strong. Tough game in store for that Munster lineup.

Looking forward to seeing how Shane Daly goes at fullback. Nash has a big task up against Duhan van der Merwe. Delighted for Healy.

As much if a first team that edinburgh can put out as possible..

Edinburgh coming to win this game.

Happy to see us rest a few guys though, hopefully, they'll pull a win out of it.

    Marius Mitrea is the ref

Really like the look of the Munster lineup and what a test for Healy at 10. Basically coming up against a full strength Edinburgh team.

Massive test of this group of players but a positive result would give a massive boost to the whole group going into the Saracens games

I'm guessing McCarthy is now the second choice SH.

I think Rhys Marshall could flourish in the more expansive style we seem to be playing this season

Delighted to see Nash and Daly. They could become really good players. Daly was great for the u20's. Surprised that Sean O Connor hasn't had a look in? Is he injured?

Daly has put in some very good performances at FB and wing so far this season, but his preferred position seems to be centre? Could be a really useful option for the 23 jersey in the higher profile games down the line.

Atmosphere rather more subdued than last week :D

Healy's job is hard enough as it is without having passes thrown at his ankles by McCarthy...

Silly score to give away off a routine exit.

    Awful pass from McCarthy.

    Kicking is hopeless

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,845 ✭✭✭shootermacg

Wooton is really out of position all game so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

That’s it, stick it on Sau the whole time now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,328 ✭✭✭theVersatile

Back three looking dodgy on those kicks. That was a decent kick from Healy yet we still end up on the back foot as a result

Acres for any decent kicker to aim at in the Munster back field. If Munster are going to win this, they're going to have to score a few tries as I can see them giving up a couple here.

What an absolutely ridiculous penalty from Mata, he just sat there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,845 ✭✭✭shootermacg

    McCarthy looks up for it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Looks like Sam Arnold wasn't blessed with the brains to match his athletic ability. Bizarre.

    Oh dear.

The fielding by Munster is probably the worst I've seen.

Is that not illegal by Edinburgh. Lifting the post pads

Should be a penalty try. Due care and all that. If player hit head on post it would be very dangerous.

Except that's not how a penalty try works at all.
