Watching this series got me thinking, what would you do if you were born into a criminal family such as the keegan brothers as you become a teenager and man??
Would you embrace a life of criminality, violence, killing others and living under risk of being killed, always looking over your back for cops or rival gangs, but also the highs of not having to do a regular job and having the sometimes riches and extravagant holidays and parties that this world brings.
Or would you tell ur family to f*k off that life just isn’t for you, move out probably have to move town maybe even country, and try to make your own way legally in life?? Tho this option would be tough for a 16/17 year old to have to do.

whats good for the Goose is good for the Gander!

Very few people actually want to see the actions of their family as wrong even if to the rest of the world, they are despicable.

By and large, young people are impressionable and the example their parents or other family elders set can have big impact on their lives. There is of course the exceptional few who can see gangland for what it is, but even still id imagine its hard to walk away from it especially for young people with nowhere to go.

Definetly in the so bad its good category. The story is a bit all over the place, the acting and accents are beyond shocking and someone loves drone shots. I'm still watching it though, and for the life of me, I've no idea why.

The last episode that’s on tonight is by far the best episode of the series.

Reading it's a bit of a ratings hit averaging 400k viewers per episode. The actor playing Damien said they are waiting to see will there be a 2nd season.

I think I stuck with it because I knew it was only eight episodes long.
Overall it was very poor tough.

Gucci loafers. It’s called fashion, darling. Look it up :pac:

(They’re hideous, I blame James Kavanagh)

I do blame him and Darren Kennedy.

I think part of fashion tough is being able to know what you can pull off and what you can't pull off.

I have found the series very watchable so far. The father's comedic Dublin accent has grown on me. It's far better than Dublin Murders, which was so confusing, and didn't deliver the goods in the end either. This is the Ronseal drama....does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the younger actors are great, particularly Damien and his girlfriend. I also love the aerial shots of Bray. I worked along the seafront in the summer as a young boy, so it brings back memories.

It was considered cool tough when I had it.

It hasn’t. average audience was around 110,000 - 120,000 for adults maybe reach was a peak of 400,000, but that’s not a good figure, it was commissioned back in 2017.

The guy in the middle looks RIDICULOUS.

I saw him on the 6 o’clock show a couple of weeks ago. He seems like a nice fella looking to get on in the Dublin acting scene. He is very different in real life to Butsy.

Actually not a bad episode tonight.

Not without some glaring writing errors though, but certainly the best so far. With proper researchers and writers it could have had some potential.

It was hilariously bad tonight. Some of the acting and accents were shocking, the "scouser" the worst by some distance. The bit where Damo runs in Paddy's gym was so bad. He's seen running into the gym, the chief suspects in his brothers murder have been shot up, and the Gardaí just walk out when Paddy says Damo has been with him all afternoon ???? I still watched it though......

I thought he was about the best thing in it. Him, Butsy and Goose were the only somewhat high points of this series. Very poor overall.

Orginally this had a budget of 1.6m the BAI provided 30% which came to 500,000.

It was filmed over 34days. Fair dues to them for being able to pull it off with just 500,000 I said Virgin Media gave them nothing.

Edit: It also received some funding from Screen Ireland/Fís Éireann

Did wicklow County Council not fund some of the drone footage? could of fit 6 eps into 3 their was that much dead air thru out it.
Noway they could spend money on the second series. That 50th must of started at 10am the way the lighting never changed

I think if one line from the series could sum the whole thing up it would be the ''You've been seen with Butsy Butler'' one from the Detective.

It was utterly crap, in almost every respect. The entire plot was weak, and without any intricacies or even the merest element of surprise.

He was ok but could have done with a bit more vocabulary in his script, everything was rat this or rat that

Not really sure what was expected, small budget and a lot of debutantes. It was grand, thinking back to the first season of Love/Hate and if it wasn't for Aidan Gillen I'd say it would have been canned.

The opening scene of LH was Darrens brother been gunned down, immediately you were invested in it to see who done it. They filled that show with likable characters too you could root for even though they were drug dealing criminals.
There was alot of character building in that show, something they didn't bother with in this.
