yes the panel that started late july 19, we are referring too. Was hoping there would be some movement but seems very quiet.

Am 6th and 9th on those panels and didn't get 1 offer which is so unusual. Don't exactly care much but...

Was Dublin one of your choices? I would have taught that they would get to 6th in Dublin pretty quick?

Did we put choices down. I don't remember doing that.

yes we had 3 choice of regions to make. I presume if you select Dublin your chances are much increased.

I got reply from panel placings very quickly this time, Tipperary and Limerick have moved by one place.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11 JF1970

Great news at least there is some movement...

  • Registered Users Posts: 78 ✭✭BMHOPE

No movement since, so only moved by one place since last July. Fingers crossed that a few will be offered soon. Did anyone else hear anything on AP placings the interdepartmental comps seem to be the best to get placed off as most movement from what I hear.

Still there is hope .... even if it is fading slightly.

It's supposed to rotate fairly between panels so in theory there shouldn't be any "better" panel to be on. All depends which panel's turn it is in the location you prefer. If you're hoping for outside Dublin then you are probably a bit more at the mercy of which panel is next as the positions just don't arise that often. I wonder if, because this role was specifically a "tax specialist" role can they bypass Inter-D or internal panels if the panellists don't have the necessary taxes knowledge or experience??

Another 4-5 months until this panel expires anyway, so you're in with a shout. My dismal placing means I'm a cert to go through the whole process again when it starts in the Spring, oh joy!!

Sprites, I would say that I will be joining you, but it's all experience or so I tell myself every time I put myself forward for the process. 😠hopefully next time for both of us. 😉

The joys...has the Dublin panel been cleared from last years?

    I haven't a notion!

I was top for my area but nothing as yet.

This panel seems to be very slow moving this year, I will work on new application tomorrow. Should someone start a new thread for the 2020 competition. Working on open and interdepartmental Ap competition too .... Corona might delay the process.

Closing date extended to 2 April

  • Registered Users Posts: 447 ✭✭delricyo

Corona has already delayed the process. But given the way previous years went, You would be surprised how much of this can be done without any contact. Remember that people doing shortlisting or reviewing video interviews will probably have remote access.

Back to the form now - it will keep me out of trouble for the week:pac:

Thanks barney I submitted it before the original date. Just added myself here for the updates.:)

Fingers crossed for this year, not many taken off last years panel, maybe a few moved in dublin but country movement very limited. Last year, they shortlisted first, then online interview type thing and then physical attendance in dublin castle for final interview. Panel was put in place in july. No apptitude tests.

Hi, just wondering did you (or anyone) get confirmation back that your application was received?

    Yeah, there’s a global pandemic!

I thought maybe with revenue being so busy there might be a requirement for more hands on deck and also a glimmer of hope for those waiting on panels.

    Keep up the good work.

Anonire, this panel is more or less on hold at the minute, unless there is an urgent post that needs to be filed but unlikely. It looks like this panel will be extended, but for how long, I don't know. It was looking hopeful before all of this. I can't see them recruiting too many at the minute as most people working from home. Internal transfers seem to be going ahead alright though.
