Armchair side snacking on some of the leftover Halloween sweets. Finally went back to my FYP and am again feeling good and positive about it. I’m going to try and get my introduction done this week and then hopefully make a start on my second chapter as soon as possible after that. Seeing people’s graduation photos on social media is slightly motivating me, that’ll be me this time next year, fingers crossed

Come on now, be honest. Money is a bit tight this year for ye.

It's ok though. Plenty of people in the same boat.

Actually, it's costing me about a grand with flights and hotels. Ah - whatcha gonna do. It will be nice.

Anyway. Had tea today. Is it wrong to have a black tea with milk? Hmmmm. No. :)

    Almost homeside.

High stool. Real bar. Me and little G hit supermac's earlier. Had the 5oz burger. Recommend it.

Bit stingy of superman to only be making five ounce burgers I would have thought.

Just tasted Dunnes taco mayo. And licking a battery would be more favorable. I should open a Mexican diner because your being deprived on genuine Mexican cuisine. I don't know where in Mexico they came up with this stuff, heh.

    Whoop whoop. Homeside.

Was reminiscing about the 5 Guys burger this weekend. Is it actually as good as I remember? I do remember getting a milkshake with bacon in it though. Amazing!

Edited - homeside, not homesite. Although both are good.

Finally, someone who gets this :)
Good fresh tasty Mexican food is one of the top things that I miss most about not being in the US. 777 Dublin is probably the best here in Dublin, it's Cal-Mex cantina style. Fun and good, and they do frozen margaritas. 2 for 1 on Sundays!

Sigh. I have sooo many Mi Cochina Mexicana cookbooks, but never the quite the same when you have go do it yourself in grey rainy November with ingredients from Lidl... A friend just sent me link below: a totally adorable country Mexican grandmother's new youtube channel about her home cooking, she went from 0 to millions of views in like a week. She's fantastic :D

    Couchside, thinking of food.

Nah - was disappointed last week. But, my other favourite foodporn youtube site (Sam the cooking guy) tries to do a recreation... looks tastier than the one I had if you're handy in the kitchen!

Sadly I agree, most of my ingredients I have to get shipped in since you can't get them here. Most the so called Mexican dishes here I'd only feed to the dog. It's great to know I'm not alone, thank you for that.

There is only food or Tequila which also is lacking here.Certain Cuervos is nice but they also lack on the better brands like Extra Añejo. And as for Mezcal forget about it,heh.

Being mollycoddled by Mrs S. I'm allowed do nothing. My back pain has eased considerably but one foot has gone numb. Doctor tomorrow hopefully, though I think it's just sciatic nerve issues from the back trauma. Mrs S's imagination, however, is running wild.
Bored silly, which doesn't help my mood.

Nope - Mexican food issues aside, happy in Dublin. Spent years in the Bay Area - some as a child growing up. And Chicago which somewhat surprisingly has great Mexican too - from the large population there.
Spent a few Thanksgivings/holidays up Healdsburg way, would be back in that area for a few months every year if I had the $$$ and leisure time! They a bit (good) crazy up there though. Probably too much vino. :P Shocking the fire damage though - hear some people have now been hit twice in 2 years.

Yeah so far my friends are safe from the fires. Surprised about Chicago having great Mexican food, heh.Hearldsburg is pricey but the choices of wines make up for it as does the views.
