€290k invested in Prize Bonds since Sept 17th.

    1 x €50 First week.
    Nothing second week.
    Nothing third week.
    Nothing fourth week.
    Nothing fifth week.
    1 x €50 sixth week.

Total wins in six weeks, €100 on €290k invested.

I'm finding it difficult to understand how your calendar works - if you won €50 on 17th Sept, then presumanbly you're referring back to the draw held on 13th September and so you would have invested your money at beginning of that week (9th Sept) at latest. And your 2nd win would have been last Friday's 18th October - is that correct?

I am just looking at weeks and not dates within weeks. I have had this money invested in Prize Bonds long before the 17th Sept but I am only recording wins from that date/week.

I receive my wins by post, usually on a Wednesday. So when I post I am just referring to that week.

    *((100/290k) * 100)/6*52?

Thanks for doing the math. Poor return. This was previously invested in the stock market with dividends of around 3% +.

Win ratio: 13 wins in 121 weeks (11%)
    2017 (Jul-Dec): 5 x €50 = €250

Dublin got the 50K, 6 of the 10 1K’s, and 6 of the 10 500’s. Cork got a 1K, and 2 500’s. That left 3 1’s and 2 500’s for the rest of us. Between them they got 52% of the prizes and 60% of the prize money.

10 million newish bonds APB to APK won only 60 prizes this week, which is as low as I have seen. Last week the same bonds won 93 prizes, which is more like the average. The number of prizes per individual million in one draw ranges from 3 to 14. Over the course of two draws it is 13 to 21.

    Nothing for me this week.

Well. I upped my holding to 100k , Last ones issued on 16/10 so have been in the last 2 draws..... Still nothing.
I think they are waiting to give me a big one..... YA! RIGHT?

When you buy prize bonds do they send you a SSCN with your bonds or do you receive it separately?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,107 ✭✭✭Living Off The Splash

I didn't get my State Savings Customer Number for many years after I purchased my first prize bonds. I think that I may have made an enquiry about something and then I was given a customer number.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,811 ✭✭✭✭dxhound2005

Purchasers after 05 Oct 2014 got the number. Different system for earlier purchasers.

I bought some prize bonds recently and have just received them in the post. Do they send your SSCN shortly afterwards (separately)?

I didn't get one when we purchased €2500 vouchers online...but when we made our big purchase in post office we quoted our customer number and noticed on the the receipt we received back from post office to confirm purchase that it had our sscn on it.

O.k., thanks. There's a customer number on the bonds, but maybe I'll have to contact them to get an SSCN?

    It will.

PBs are just a holding place for cash, not a place for any sort of return.

    I'm 2 years with 25k and won €100.

Its up to 32k now mind you. I'm building it up towards a mortgage some decade in the far far apocalyptic future

I got my interest on my savings from my bank today. All of €3. I was thinking of throwing a bit of my savings into prize bonds. I went to my post office this evening with my ID documents and bought a small amount to get started. Even if I won €50 I'd be doing better than my savings account. I didn't receive my SSCN today either.

    Again, not me.

While people here are crying out for a win, some people who have won don't bother cashing their cheques, or fail to give up to date contact details. Getting on for €3 million in unclaimed prizes. Lots of prizes are from before the Euro, as a search on the site will show. Just a very small extract from the C bonds, to show two consecutive numbers.

    Unclaimed / Uncashed Winnings
If unclaimed within 6 months, a prize becomes unclaimed.
