Letwin saying vote for deal in order to avoid no deal.

    The first will pass.

    Second one (timetable) very tight.

Hopefully it passes. This shambles can't continue.

Honestly, So much for the UK being in control of everything.

    The first will pass.

    Second one (timetable) very tight.

    id second that -

even if i was in favor of brexit i wouldnt be prepared to rush the thing through just so BJ isnt embarrassed by not leaving on 31st October

    Id say

    VOTE 1 - Narrow win
VOTE 2 - Solid but not substantial loss

For me question is whether BJ sticks to his guns - its insane and childish of him tbh

It's annoying me listening to Alister Campbell - moaning about the "border" in the Irish sea.

Of course a month a go he was all against a border on the island of Ireland - at all costs.

As long as it suits their remain agenda. Just using whatever the issue happens to be.

Be interesting to see if the timetable passes. If it does, it is all over now.

IMO of course. The battle, bullying and brainwashing has succeeded. OK that's "Democracy" for you.

This is going to pass I think, second one is going to be tight I reckon.

Labour's Sarah Champion, Gareth Snell and Ruth Smeeth have voted with government, along with John Mann and Antoinette Sandbach who are independent.

I will say it again, the method of voting in the HoC is a farce and they need to move with the times

Majority of 30 for second reading.

Convincing win for the second reading. Now, the process of amending it will begin. Programme motion will be much closer, I'd say.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,209 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

Twice the majority as was expected for the second reading.

Going to be really tight for the programme vote.

I know it’s a majority of 30 but it’s for a second reading which just means it’s going to move on the next stage.

Vote for timetable will tell. If that's a No, he's going to pull it and try to go for an election.

The DUP are sitting in the chamber and not moving.

Been out of the loop today & y'day regards Brexit. Whats the programme motion?

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators Posts: 11,837 Mod ✭✭✭✭devnull

    DUP look to be abstaining.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,209 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

    Are DUP abstaining!?

They have not left the chamber.

Impossible - would they abstain on the 'precious union'?

If they do they will be ripped to shreds surely?

How much time they have to debate. He wants three days, some of them want up to 4 weeks.

What does second reading mean? They have voted to agree to vote again??

I'm getting really confused, and I'm usually on top of all Brexit craziness :D

I know the next one, the programme motion, is the biggie, but again, what exactly does it mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,209 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

DUP have left the chamber now, not abstaining.

DUP are going to vote now, it seems. Not sure why they'd abstain on this one.
