Will be very interesting to see how Japan approach this game now. They'll blow the whole tournament wide open if they manage to take the Boks.

*Before it begins jr86, I have no 'obsessive hate' of either Japan or SA, don't be thinking I am seeking revenge for Pearl Harbour or Apartheid if I say something harsh about either.

If they are to have a chance they will need a massive improvement on their showing today. Very very lucky to win the match.

They will but they were very poor v France in 6n too and we know what happened after that

They've got there by hook or by crook and in truth anything can happen from here

Our clubs deliver in Europe, we have a better 15 on paper, much more depth and more often than not we're more consistent than them

Yet they have an incredible winning mentality. They were helped out well today, but they still won the crucial group game to avoid England and overall they have form for really turning up in the big matches

So we don't deserve to be better

We definitely have more dept and our provinces wipe the floor with their regions, however, on paper it could be argued that their starting 15 is as good as ours.

Ireland would love to have the likes of Liam Williams, Jonathan Davies, Navidi, Toby Faletau(if fit) and Dan Biggar(wouldn't start ahead of Sexton but who knows on form) etc. Theres also alot if arguable ones, is Rory Best that much better than Ken Owens? Gareth Davies cant pass but offers something different to our scrum halves... North and Stockdale are a much of a much.

    Yeah true point ðŸ‘

I guess I'm coming more from a 'potential' point of view, and looking with 2018 tinted specs

Our lads are playing below their ceiling this year whereas the Welsh boys are playing to the max of their ability. And massive kudos to them

    This is 2011 SF reversed.

We played a great game, our best since... the RWC 2011 final. Even down to 14 men, we competed and we did not see we were down 1 man. Wales try is not scandalous (there's a very minor forward movement) but denying it wouldn't have been scandalous either. Don't know if we'd have held on but anyway, we shall leave away the frustration and disappointment and focus on the real important thing this WC showed us.

I've been proven right in front of the eyes of the whole rugby World! I'm hammering it for 10+ years, this is clear-cut: current Top 14 format is harmful to Les Bleus. After 4-5 months without it, that is a good preparation, good recovery, time to work on gameplans, building of team cohesion, etc... , we can compete against major teams. We beat Argentina, drew England (haha ^^) and dominated Grand Slam winner Wales.

Everyone in France was prepared to accept us not getting off the group phase for the first time ever and in the end we should be in the semi-final but Vahaamahina hot-headed stupidity.

So please, big headed fat bodies of the FFR remodel the Top 14!!!

You may have a point about the Top 14 but France only beat the Pumas and Tonga by 2 points in the pool stage and could easily have lost to both of them.
Much improvement is needed between now and the 2023 WC.

Must say something harsh about Scotland and the northern Irish part of our team too.

That would be all the Brits 'generically' covered. ;)

Ara Scottish rugby are too inoffensive. No-one can dislike them!

Ara I know it's only harmless. As you said it's what rivalry does

Did France get a top 2 finish at all since 2011 in 6 nations?

Could really do with a big campaign next year. England and Ireland at home

I'd say it's so sweet for Welsh supporters reading this forum :D

The Irish don't half do bitterness. :pac:

They turn up in big games, make WC semis and with a smaller playing pool

    They're a lesson to us

Be delighted to see such a proud rugby nation in the final
I doubt that Wales have a smaller playing pool than us .

Just watched a replay of the wales last try again, apart from the obvious forward rip the wales scrum half is standing in front of the french scrum half?! On frances own scrum?!

Lads Peyper was the referee. Why is anyone still surprised when he totally ****s up a massive game defining moment?

I’d take Dan Biggar over todays Sexton all day every day . Sexton is just too fragile any more . Ironically for Sexton a lot of the type of tackling that has made him so fragile looks likes its going to be outlawed just as his career is on the downward path / ending .

Wales to me looked a bit tired. I really do think in all 3 games we’ve seen the benefit of last week off. England France and NZ all looked to have more in the tank

It's their national sport. No native sports competing with it.
Of course they will generally be a match/better than Ireland.

The non-trolls here love rugby but it's still a very minority sport in Ireland
