Great deal but no WiFi calling makes it a non-runner for me.
Incidentally, the Eir website is down for maintainance with a message of great offers to come.....

I got the GOMO SIM, I'm using it in a dual SIM phone, when I switch Data to the GOMO Sim, WIFI calling comes up as an option, and is enabled. The same doesn't happen with my 3 PAYG sim in the other slot.

Otherwise, I'm a little underwhelmed with the Eir network, getting 2/3 Mb/s average, maxing at 8Mb/s on 4g, getting 12/15 on 3g. On 4g the upload is about 20 Mb/s, so contention maybe the reason. In the same location, D2, I'm getting 45-70Mb/s on three.

I assume there’s no webtext thing? That comes in handy the odd time...

I'm happy enough with Tesco. Other mobile providers will follow suit soon enough. I was on to Tesco earlier and yar man was saying he'd received plenty of calls about leaving.

Have many people been getting the same download speeds as Eir?

Don't care for 5G so a non issue for me.

Details still unknown about today's big "aggressively priced" TV launch. Separate thread needed on this once known. Suspect it is an offer similar to Free's TV offer in France. (Eir owner also owns Free).

Content delivered via fibre. Accompanying cheap fibre launching also. I'm no Eir lover, and Sky's product is good but extortionate in pricing, but I hope Eir sock it to them.

Really hope the tv and broadband offer give a serious kicking to virgin media. Price hikes every year and a horrendous tv box. I can’t wait to switch from them.

Got home from work yesterday & the new SIM had arrived by post, hadn't recieved a delivery notice from them... Due to port on Saturday. So far so good.

Had no email either but did receive sim yesterday.

Still 30 left of 50 euro call credit at 3 before i can port numbers.
It is hard work, spending money, when there is nothing you really need.

Donate to charity? Better than it being lost to 3.

Still, think that information in none of Eir's business. Would existing phone number not do?

I don’t think you will get your hands on any phone sim in Ireland without parting with dara that identifies you specifically.

Will it require FTTH I wonder?

Oh, i will definitely not leave in in the 3 account. No worries.
I had set my porting date on november 14th.
My data add on wth 3 expires the 21st this month and i am not even going to let that go unused :D

No. You can get the gomo sim and use the 085 number that comes with the sim.

I ordered yesterday, got a text code but no email, payment wasn't taken from my bank account. Has this happened to anyone else?

The N26 embedded verification iFrame did show but after authorization failed like others. Ordered with Irish bank instead. Will swap cards at the weekend.

Won't we just have the same issue next month though?

There's one mention of webtext in terms section 16...
    https://gomo.ie/terms/

So maybe there is webtext. Eir's international webtext are free whereas standard phone international SMS are charged extra.

The main advantage of webtext is that you can send them even with zero credit on PAYG, but that's not going to be an issue on a SIM only tariff with national SMS are included.

What about calling Northern Ireland??? And sending SMS to NI numbers.....

This is my wife's biggest cost currently...... will this offer eliminate this??

    Signed up last night....

Never thought I would go back to eir to be honest but it's too good a deal to continue to pay double for a hell of a lot less.
