This is my first borderlands game... i love the graphic style and gameplay but loathe the totally uninteresting story and horrific attempt at comedy. If I could skip each cutsence and be none the wiser about the story direction I would have happily done so.

The stories have never been great in the Borderlands games. BL2 was fairly good, and Tales From The Borderlands was probably the best but it was a Telltale game rather than proper Borderlands. The humour can be more miss than hit.

Regardless though, the story in BL3 was just awful, as were the villains. But ultimately, the gameplay in the BL can just be so fun and addictive that it doesn't matter.

Quick question - Can I respec my skill points once I hit level 50? I seem to be locked out of more once i hit 50...

    Thanks

you can respec at any point once you have the cash, which I think is 10% of your cash

If you've not used it before it's available from the Quick Change station, and yup 10% of your current cash.

I initially thought it went up every time you re-specced and was getting worried about how much it was starting to cost.

Was trying to find a place to hide from the enemies on slaughtershaft and fell through the map. -$4M. Earlier got booted from the game -$4m. I'd easily have maxed out on cash but for this kind of bs and rebuilding my character everytime I logged on, until recently.

Theres a nice reason to respec your character a few times at the start of a session ;)

    Hotfix notes:
    Amara

We addressed a concern that Alacrity was only rewarding players one point worth of bonuses even if the player put in more than one point. In addition, we wanted Phasegrasp to be more accessible to all weapon types and play styles, so we doubled the range to grasp an enemy.

Putting points into Alacrity now awards a reload speed bonus per rank

Phasegrasp can now be used on targets further away and the cooldown is now instantly returned if a player misses

    Moze

The Bloodletter class mod was creating some overwhelming synergies for Moze so we increased the delay and decreased the recharge rate of the shield to compensate. This should help encourage the intended use of this class mod, which is to heal shields manually, not automatically. Means of Destruction*’s re-trigger delay was adjusted again because the change limited other builds beyond creating infinite grenades. The infinite grenade bug will be addressed in a future patch but we wanted to enable other builds that use* Means of Destruction so we dramatically reduced the re-trigger delay to a reasonable number.

Bloodletter Class Mod- Increased the Recharge Delay by 150%- Reduced the Recharge Rate by 50%

Addressed a reported bug with Close the Distance so the Action Skill Augment will now deal the intended Shock Damage

Means of Destruction now has a re-trigger delay of 0.3 seconds

    FL4K

The Leave No Trace change last week to FL4K was to forcefully inject the functionality of a cooldown into the ability. However, the value that was added was never the intended the value. We dramatically lowered it to retain the promise of the ability but with a cooldown that still allows players to gain ammo without dramatically removing a core aspect of a weapon’s gameplay loop.

Leave No Trace now has a re-trigger delay set to 0.3 seconds

    Zane

Death Follows Close will correctly update several Kill Skills after unlocking this ability

    Weapon Hotfixes
The Lob's projectile tick damage is now 60% of base damage (up from 20%) and projectile speed decelerates faster to increase chances of hitting the same target multiple times

Creeping Death damage increased by 200%

    Carrier damage increased by 60%

    Gunerang damage increased by 20%

All Sniper Rifle Zoom Levels have been slightly reduced

Long scopes on Jakobs, Children of the Vault, and DAHL Assault Rifles have also been slightly reduced

Anointed Parts:- When Zane swaps positions with his Digi-Clone, the damage gained is increased to 130% (up from 75%)- When FL4K hits a target with Rakks, the target now takes 100% increased damage (up from 50%)- The Anointed part "Increased damage vs Badasses" no longer heals the player and now correctly adds bonus damage to Badass enemies

    Bug Fixes
Pain, Terror, and Agonizer 9000 have been adjusted to have an increased chance to drop higher quality loot

Addressed a reported bug with Dynasty Diner that could potentially halt mission progress for some players

Addressed a reported concern that some players fell through the floors in various boss arenas

Modified enemy spawn level discrepancies reported in the later parts of the campaign

Thanks for the replies today - much appreciated!

Anyone else really frustrated with the loot management? I'm at endgame and farming for legenderies. Very little space and I'm dumping so much - hard to knwo wahts god and not...

Really bad game infrastructureon that side :(

I'm farming the end boss that shakes the player ground (not sure of his name!) But none of my weapns seem to touch him...

You on console? Split screen with a second account give them some cash to upgrade backpack and change their name to what ever it is you are going to give them. You can then have them join/leave at any time from the pause menu and you can even have multiple "mules" to carry pistols, shotguns etc etc.

man there's me with three mules thinking "wtf is Moze carrying" when I should just have called her pistols and shotguns

loot management is a pain. I saw a general rule that said don't keep anything under 550 gear score or anointed under 575. At this stage if it's not anointed I'm not looking at it.

Would you be surprised to learn I had a spread sheet too :o

EDIT: After consulting the list my highest scoring item is Lucian's call and it's not even anointed, 596.

EDIT: 601 actually had an anointed woodblocker sniper rifle drop I have one thats 571 base damage of 1351 , anointed one does 1250

When do I get my fourth weapon slot? Is it linked to level? I just got the third part of the vault key and I'm level 20.

As far as I remember it was around the time you rescue Hammerlock. I should remember better as I am not that far ahead of you. I can't wait till I get the last slot beside the class mods available. I'm more than half way through and still haven't received it yet.

I don't think I've saved Hammerlock but I have killed a few of his hunt targets.

No I got the last part of it and then did the side mission with Terry and Glenn :pac:

I'm playing it different than you. I'm leaving the side missions till later which I never done in any of the Borderlands games. I used to do a side mission as soon as it was available but someone in this thread said do them later so I did. Hopefully it helps me get to level 50 easier.

I'm just exploring around the levels as I go. Haven't done all of the side missions.

Managed to solo the Slaughtershaft. Wasn't too difficult. A few dicey moments but staying on the run and taking out Badass Tinks was the main strategy, plus my Shock Hex grenade served me a lot better than the radioactive one I'd been using. About 10 legendaries dropped during it. 5 of them were sniper rifles.

But, one of the other ones was a Corrosive Crossroads, so next step is going to be taking on the Slaughterstar. Between that gun, Shock Hex grenade and AAA pistol, should be fairly sorted.

start the game offline, load into the world, start internet and try it then, Invited my mate in it & was nuts, 60k per anointed and there's a lot of them.Loads of xp and loot most of it bleuh

Did you invest in luck or get the perk that boost it for a few seconds per kill? Starting to see loads of blues now too

I don't think luck makes much difference I'd rather have the extra 4 hp and that' s saying something

Done. Only hard bit was pretty much running out of ammo with the two bosses at the end (didn't know about them). Had an infinity pistol to plug away at one of them, then sniper and fire conference call for the other.

Killed the big guy that came out of the first vault I opened last night. It took about 20 minutes which seem an awful long time. Did I miss a trick with him or does he just have a really large health pool?

Pretty big health pool really, especially dependent on your weapons/gear/abilities at that stage. I wouldn't say it took me that long, but I did go through a lot of ammo.

he was a mare, I was around the same level as him and died a few times, he was just doing too much damage and early-mid level Amara wasn't strong enough. End game Amara is different, oh boy you don't want to mess with end game Amara.

Did Slaughtershaft a few more times yesterday. Might make this my new farming method rather than Graveward. Don't get as many legendaries as I would with Graveward in the same time, but Graveward is just pretty boring at this stage. At least Slaughtershaft is a decent challenge.

Yeah I think I was down to my sniper ammo at that stage too, and it was a fairly standard sniper rifle. Think I killed one of the adds and got a bit of shotgun ammo at the end to finish him off.

The next Vault monster was worse. Almost nothing I had was putting a dent in him at all.

Mine is one that Dcully dropped for me. It's a gold one that has fire damage but little explosives drop down on the enemy you shoot. It's a monster.

    Edit: it's called Firestorm.

Slaughtershaft is the best for farming legendries but there is a loot pool. I see very few (some) mods dropping in it for example. I boot up the game offline, load the character in and then switch it back online and invite my buddy. If I leave the group open randoms don't seem to join. They join on other activities but not on that it seems. XP and drops are insane although I believe they are patching this out.
2 randoms joined an open world run yesterday and I saw one of them go to level 37. Went to a proving ground and he went from around there to level 50 by the time we completed that one run.

We then brought them to a slaughtershaft and the two randoms died in 30 seconds. TBH it was hard and my buddy went down in round 3. I intentionally killed myself but really was doing something that was ineviteable. If you're doing that with 4 on Mayhem 3 with the offline/online thingy you either need decent modifiers, no passengers or be seriously good/lucky.

Yeah I am seeing a few repeat drops of the same guns alright, especially snipers and shotguns.

All I really want at this stage is a Lucian's Call.

Think I had one of those at some point alright, but rarely use sniper rifles at all. I got rid of it once I was enough levels higher than it that it wasn't much use to me at that stage. Replaced it with a purple sniper rifle with better damage (always try to keep at least one of each type of weapon with me in case I'm running out of ammo on a boss).

The Lyuda sniper rifle is pretty much the only sniper I keep with me at this stage, even though so many of the legendary drops I get are sniper rifles. It's ridiculous how often they drop considering their use is so limited.

Farm Dinklebot on normal with no mayhem mods there's a spawn point just through the doors to the left after him so trigger that fill up on the loot-o-grams and head back on tvhm or mayhem mods back on and see if Earl with drop you one.

I got 2 of my 3 in the 2 chests while farming the force troops for coms. Could be just my imagination but those chests had a lot of Jacobs stuff in them, so from the spawn at atlas hq out into the court yard, immediate left and open the chest at the end, jump up the wall run down to the end where the troops spawn and open the other one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

The chests at Atlas HQ have ludicrously high legendary drops it seems.

I have 4 Lucien's calls @ 621 gear score in Fire, shock, corrosive and cryo. I don't think I have the radiation one but probably do. The only AR I've used the past week is the double penetrating lazer-explody one. It's a torque gun. I have it in corrosive and another dropped in corrosive but they're the only two I've found. I've a couple in shock but they're not DP. None of them are anointed. Every time I think this I get a little sad.

The dictator looks nasty but I've only found it as a non-elemental. there's one called the cleric which is fun it's a semi auto that fires off sticky bullets.

Decided to try Dinklebot a week or two ago. He spawned first time, got one loot-o-gram. Didn't appear the next 5 times so I took the one Loot-o-gram to Earl, and he spat out a white Atlas pistol, so I said f*ck that. Then again, that was Mayhem 3 so I was putting myself through unnecessary hardship now that you point it out. Forgot about that.

Could try the Force Troops too I suppose. Did that run on Saturday as they were one of the rare spawn missions on the board in Sanctuary and I'd never seen them before. Decided to complete the Typhon chest and give Katagawa Jr a run while I was there. Between 3 legendaries from Badasses outside the HQ (where the turrets are), 2 legendaries after the Katagawa fight in the chest, and 5 legendaries from Katagawa himself (which was a very quick fight too), Atlas HQ can be a decent farm run itself as a whole.

Yeah picked up a dictator too. Haven't used it in battle, only testing.

One gun that's really surprised me is the Hellwalker shotgun. Some kick to it, sends lads flying. Very quick reload and a magazine size buff gives me 3 shots instead of 2, so can do some very quick and high damage with it.
