Nothing here again. Not sure where mine are hiding. Bought some more this week so hopefully a fresh batch will have better luck.

Nothing for us this week as far as I know. Sent off our 100k bond last Friday to cash in some of it so waiting for replacement to issue. Nothing on the other ones but then again we’re getting very used to that now.

APG992829, bought about three weeks ago.

The newest bond to win on 04 Oct was APJ495808, today APL447984. The new bonds I got this week are APJ915xxx. No win for me today.

I’ve got a little over 25k invested, but they’re an accumulation of small bundles since June 2018. Won €50 today for the first time.

Is is possible to request sequential bond numbers?
How are you able to tell when a bond was bought?

You would have to cash them in and get a block of new ones, which would be sequential. No point in doing that, since it won't make any difference to your chances of winning. €25K will win twice in 52 draws with average luck.

This is a rough progression of bond numbers, based on bonds I own and other data. First bond issued in 1957. End of single letter prefixes and start of doubles around 1982. First Euro denominated bond DL000001. End of double letter prefixes and start of triples July 2015. Up to APL this week.

Hi folks, don't want to derail thread, but a lot of PB knowledge in here, so I thougth you may be able to answer a couple of quick queries....
    1. Planning to 'invest' ~25k in prize bonds, can I do this with a bank draft? (application form says Cheque, cash or debit card)
    2. If I choose the option to reivest winnings into new bonds, and at some stage I want to withdraw a partial amount, is this allowed? Assuming the amount would need to be multiples of whole bonds (€6.25)?
    Thanks for input!

I don't believe it, 2 X 50 EUR wins today on my house deposit (60k), happy days, that's only 200 EUR in 12 months though...

Another 'Killarney' envelope on it's way with €50.

€50 win 18/10/2019, PB bought April 2003, first win since 21/9/2019.

Winnings to date (no winning records kept pre 2005) €1,625 on €9,850 worth of PB's bought monthly over a 21 year period plus €20,000 bought in Feb 2016 (five €50 on the February 2016 purchase).

    Winnings 2011 €75
    Winnings 2012 €150
    Winnings 2013 €200
    Winnings 2014 €100
    Winnings 2015 Zero
    Winnings 2016 €200
    Winnings 2017 €250
    Winnings 2018 Nada, Zilch, SFA
Winnings 2019 €200 (and counting - could be my best year)

    Roll on next Friday

Dublin got the €50K, 6 of the 10 1K's, and 5 of the 10 €500's. Cork got a €1K, and a €500. Between them they got 52% of the prizes, and 62% of the prize money.

They get more than 50% of the prizes in every draw. While it does prove the integrity of the draw, it leaves slim pickings for the rest of us. Nothing for me today.

I have purchased other state savings products using bank drafts so I don’t see why not. Just ensure that the payee is shown correctly - “NTMA State Savings” and send it by registered post. You could also call them on 1850 30 50 60 or 01 705 7200 to check.

You will initially be issued with one cert for the 4,000 prize bonds you are purchasing. You will be issue with a separate cert for any winnings. When you wish to redeem you need to submit the certificate/s with the redemption application. I’ve never done a partial redemption, but apparently it is allowed.....

    From https://www.statesavings.ie/media/pdf/prizebonds_repayment_form
    3. BOND RANGE
Where application for repayment is for less than the total number of units in a multiple Bond, a Bond covering the remaining units will be forwarded to the holder. The range of Bonds to be repaid must start at the first Bond in the range held.

    Best of Luck

€290k invested in Prize Bonds since Sept 17th.

    1 x €50 First week.
    Nothing second week.
    Nothing third week.
    Nothing fourth week.
    Nothing fifth week.

Getting a bit tired of this. Cashed in my Stock market holdings, where I was getting decent dividends plus profits to now getting practically nothing. Methinks I made the wrong decision.

If you went in expecting a good return, yes.

If you did it to take profits and secure them, tis a fine decision. ;)

Prize bond returns will always reflect the deposit market and the prize pot, number of prize bonds purchased and therefore the chances of return, are very clear.
current PB returns don’t even cover inflation, so in reality you’re €290,000 hasn’t gained €50 in the past five weeks, it’s probably lost €150, assuming inflation of 1%, however in return for that deflation, your money is very very safe.

Think its a bit unfair they reduced the prizes though. 4 moths ago I invested double what I originally had a few a few years back, think in the first year I had 5 wins on the original amount I had, on current evidence I'll be lucky to win once within the year on double the amount I originally had.

I'll leave them a few more months but if no wins will look at taking my money back out.

If my maths are correct* (which they rarely are) that would work out at 0.3% if it keeps up for a year.

    *((100/290k) * 100)/6*52?
