Normally do. We won’t be giving them out this year though - thanks UK...

We have so many projects on hold at the moment as a direct result of Brexit.

I get a 500 euro one for all voucher.

I found a pay slip from 2006 recently when I was cleaning out a filing cab. The xmas bonus was 1500 euro and i was only a junior. I'd love to know what the senior lads got.

God I miss the Celtic tiger.
Ha, I used to work in IT in an estate agents. Fairly junior and I got €5k bonus in 2006. And an office admin got €13k christmas bonus

    No performance bonus either.
This from a bank which earns billions a year.

They won't get much vodka or tobacco for that. A bob is a shilling, so 100 bob equals 5 pounds, or €6.35. I hope they remember to tug their forelocks appropriately when you give it to them.

    Thanks for that, Hal.

You know what, you’re right. I won’t bother giving them a bonus. They don’t deserve it, and Eastern European’s can be funny about things like that. I’ll throw it on a horse in Leopardstown at the Christmas festival.

    .

Nice one bud. Now I'll get me name down early with St. Vincent De Paul, Merchants Quay and the Simon for the hampers. Oh I nearly forgot. Get me name on for the bus to the R.D.S. Christmas day. Although ye do get sick of Christmas dinners

Get €500 voucher in early January and performance related bonus in mid March, usually 8-12% of wages.

In my old job and not even during the good times I'd get somewhere between 40-50% of yearly wages as a bonus at end of year, cash in hand too, was bloody brilliant

Get a week off, not taken from annual leave, can't ask for more than that!

Get a bonus, but it's not at Christmas.

I’m an employer, and have never given bonuses. That said, I’ve had a bumper year, so might throw each of them 100 bob in an envelope. They’ll probably spend it on vodka and tobacco.

My wife gives her staff One4All vouchers. No BIK issues up to €500, no employers tax contributions, and you can spend them pretty much everywhere.

There's no tax on cash either

I didn't last year as I worked for a miserable bastard. Maybe this year, but I work off-site and not with the team so probably not.

No Christmas bonus, get an annual performance-based bonus in the middle of the year though.

Normally get a 200 euro One4All voucher. No complaints really. I remember working in retail as a normal floor person during the Celtic Tiger era. I was just 19, the wage was about 25K, and there were monthly bonuses, Christmas bonuses, etc. I think it worked out at about 30K a year. Place survived the recession but was bought out by another company, all the new staff were basic minimum wage, no bonuses. Around 2006/2007 were just mad times.

Honestly considering a career change (or move to a different company at least) based on this thread. I worked in one company for three years. Got a box of chocolates the first year, a candle the second and some oil infuser thing the third.

There’s nothing in my current job. Partner gets a prepaid MasterCard in his. Last year it was for €150 or €200 so he treated me to chipper 😂

Maybe also consider a change of partner while you're at it?
