he was 11 of 15 for extra points this year.
Whatever it is that's bugging him, it's clearly been there since the start of the season and they've decided now it's not worth trying to play through it.

I'm assuming he's 100% done for the year now, with Wynn and Harry still open to return?

$5.5m cap hit next year, would save $4m of that if he's cut I believe. Could be the last we see of him in New England.

Yes he's having hip surgery and done for the season. It's been bothering him since summer so it would explain the poor form.

He'll be back, he is top class. He has an injury he'll get it sorted now and be back as good as ever next season or maybe even in the postseason if we're lucky.

Has anyone come up with a reason why the injury would impact his extra points (11/15) and not his field goals (7/8)? To me an injury should make the longer kicks more difficult, so in this case getting those but having issues with the shorter seems like a mental issue.

This has the hallmarks of a surgery that could wait if the player was playing well but with him being in poor form they're getting him to do it now to stash him on IR rather than cutting him.

Jonathon Jones was not fined for the hit on Josh Allen as he turned his shoulder first to make the tackle the helmet to helmet was accidental and Allen was a runner.

It would have been a complete joke if he was sanctioned for that.

Patriots won easy yesterday without ever getting out of second gear really. They didn't look super awesome although the D is just mean.

Interesting comment from Adrian Peterson on Pats D

"They showed a lot of exotic stuff on film. But against us, they didn’t really. You know? It was like, hey, we’ll sit back here and see what you guys do, allow you guys to mess up."

Great sign that the D dont have to go all out every week to get the performance level they're producing!

From the last 2 games, it's been clear that the defense is capable of winning games almost singlehandedly.
    This is a great improvement.

Only concern from me now is that we could be peaking too early. Our last 3 Superbowl wins have come off a bit of turbulence early on.
And tbh, if that's the only complaint, we're doing well.

I remember this time last year the general consensus was we were relying on an old QB behind a porous line and a poor defense. Didnt work out so bad!

The D has been great, but the opposition has been exceptionally poor. Ravens, Eagles, Cowboys, Texans, Chiefs will tell a lot more about the D.
But not to allow a passing TD after 5 games (I don't care who you've played) is outstanding! Apart from the missed tackles on the TD run at the weekend, it was a total shutdown. And there appears to be significant depth as well. Avg of 6.8pts per game so far, again even allowing for the opponents, is amazing to see. Long way to go, but it's been great to watch.

The offense still doesn't look sharp, but they're still putting up pts. It does fell like the TEs either need to step up more like they did at the weekend, or a trade for TE/WR may be required.

Giants on Thursday. Barkley playing or not will be a major factor.

Looks like Giants are missing Barkley, Gallman, Shephard and Engram per their reporters.

Reports Eifert is available for a 3rd...
Might be a lot to pay for a 29 year old who isn't showing his full potential, but he could also be a good fit.

He isn't worth anything like a third with his injury history. I'd begrudge parting with a sixth for him. He is only on a one year contract, his third such contract I believe.

I've heard day 3 pick, so rounds 4-7. Would be a no brainer.

Winovich walks a blocked punt in after Bolden gets the shove on. Offense sputtering again, defense is balling out again.

Gordon injured so it's Meyers and Olszewski at WR no.2 and no.3

I can see a trade incoming before next week

    I'd give them a 6th for him.

Defence was impressive again last night.
Is it me or is Brady holding the ball a lot longer than he was the last few years?

Feels like his miscues are all coming off situations where we're not getting anyone open rather than him missing open player.

If Patriots weren't undefeated, I'd say the usual doubters would be coming after Brady. He didn't seem himself again last night but in fairness he has no one to throw to.

Offence hasn't got going at all yet, the AB fiasco and now Gordons injury haven't and won't help matters. Brady obviously isn't looking peak Brady but tbf his options are limited right now and I fully believe he, and hopefully the offence will be wound up as the season goes on looking to peak in January. Not so worried about October, the D is a big surprise in that they look very good, again I'd have expected to see steady improvement over the course of the season but you do need to take into account what has been played also. We will see when they get a real test where they are.

6-0, perfect start but plenty of work to do performance level wise. Great position to be in to do it from though!

Yeah, the offense is a concern at the moment. The injuries aren't helping but Edelman is just so important for us right now. Unreal that a fifth or sixth stringer can come in and grab a couple of big catches on the night. We should have Dorsett back for the next game which will help a lot but we need Gordon too.

Bolden amazes me, I didn't think he'd last with the team even with his ST's performances always being decent. Now he is looking like the running back that we thought he might be coming out of college. Huge performance last night both as a rusher and an ST'er.

Defense is pretty awesome, as long as they keep that level of performance up we are unlikely to lose even with the offense stuttering.

Brady was much better second half I thought, completed something like 16 passes in a row. Run game isn't clicking, and Newhouse is a liability at LT. Hopefully Scar can work some of his magic, and get things going in the right direction.

Apparently early signs for Josh Gordon are promising.

Still waiting to hear back on the Hightower and Chung injuries.

We can sign Maurice Harris after Monday as his injury settlement restriction expires after Week 6. He was our best WR in early training camp until he got injured so theres a decent chance he comes back.

Was at the game last night. Gordon spent more time on the physio’s bench in front of us then he did on the field of play. Got a selfie with Pat so turned into a great night. The tailgating was bloody cold though.

You thought that tailgating last night was cold??!?! Wait till you tailgate in -20C and you can't drink beer because it freezes too quickly! :pac:

You got a good game to go to. Competitive up until the 4th quarter and a comfortable win in the end. Glad you enjoyed it.
