Earls saving the LBP could be huge for getting out of the group

Massive. Some pace he showed. Had a super game, one of the few who can hold their head up

Embarrassing, I've no more to say really.

I'm now concerned that we are basically going with the same coaching team after the World Cup.

Sexton is going to be flogged now I think.

Zero control from Carbery or Carty on display. They're the future after Sexton goes, but right now they aren't going to bring us to a World Cup semi final.

****ing pathetic and embarrassing. If this was the Irish soccer team they'd be getting dogs abuse. But suddenly Japan are world beaters now.....

Well done Japan thoroughly deserved. Ireland need more foreigners to succeed. Embarrassing stuff. Shame on them all.

    That poll is hilarious lol

Lots of goys puking into their Heinos now.

Fair play to ya taking great joy in your countrymen losing, off and support Liverpool there in the English league.

I've never seen Ireland have so little control in a game since Joe has been in charge

Blaming Ireland for not being prepared / up for it / whinging / not just good enough is completely ignoring the fact the referee has been a disgrace.
from bests "knock on" that was cleary backwards to Carthy been taken out in the air.
Completely ignoring penalties from Japan - that last one was beyond a joke - Ireland attacking, murray trying to get the ball ? ? ??

Ireland were pinged at will. VDF being held and penalty given.
Its impossible to get any momentum when your are been cheated -plain and simple.

No checking of a swnging arm on Kearney? ? Why not?

I'll watch it back but sweet Jesus - they are all blatently obvious - ref couldn't have not seen it, VDF one aside.

Turning point was that lost line out on their line after about 50 mins. Went backwards from there.

    Shocking. Absolutely shocking.

Selection and tactics all wrong. Carty was terrible. Bench offered nothing.

Carty was involved in the only goods bit of play we had. Carberry looked nice where near fit enough when he came on.

A smart decision honestly. We were only going to lose a point. There was zero chance of us scoring a try.

    This .

Embarrassing to not try chase the game at the end. All blacks would push for the draw

Scotland could well beat Japan leaving us likely to top the group, definitely right to take the bonus point

An absolute humbling. We can complain about Gardner but we were ****. Played right into the Japanese hands with our poor kicking and bad decision. I'd be so happy for Japan was I not absolutely ****ing gutted.

    Well done Japan

That kick out after the gong typified the game for Ireland, poor decision making, just not up to the usual standard

Take 1 point now or massively roll the dice to try get 2 points.

Take the 1 and hope Scotland play better against them...

Kicking out after the gong for the BP was the best decision made in the 2nd half.

    Useless chunts, a shambles.

Fair play to Japan and they better bow to the crowd.

Useless ****, they should be sent home.

And Ireland have had no concept of the offside line or the practice of supporting your own body weight.

We’ve been getting away with dark arts for years and Gardner has caught us. We’ve had no answer to it and we can’t have any complaints. It was an awful performance

It was an awful performance and I will agree that he did ping us but he didnt ping them and thats the issue.

You can't possibly claim that he applied the rules accurately to both teams today

Disgraceful... well done to Japan but out played by japan is ridiculous. The players taught all they had to do was show up.

Not really. Would be better just to go out at group stage. NZ will embarrass us

Poor performance by Ireland but serious questions have to be asked of Agnus Gardener. 80 minutes of absolutely baffling decisions. I suspect he just secured his place in the World Cup Final.

RTE "this was not an under performance by the Irish team" fcking laughable comment. I guess Japan are New Zealand level now

    Negatives: Too many

Positives: We didn't concede a bonus point.

Air of arrogance about this team dating back to the first game of the Six Nations against England - from the media to the fans to the players.

You'd think after that humbling Six Nations that some lessons could have been learned about that sort of thing, but a few friendly wins over a Wales side trying out things and a victory over Scotland and we were back!

    Guess not.
