The one thing you often hear mentioned when there is a death related to ecstasy is that it was a bad batch of pills. If that were the case you would have 1000s of deaths, not just the one.

More scaremongering. Producers make thousands of these pills at a time with the main aim of them being decent quality so people have a good time and come back for more and make more money again for the producers.

People's wants are very different from their needs, yes. If somebody wants to experience something of their own free will that they can't elsewise, so be it.

My boypuss always gets what it desires, don't worry.

I bet you’re on the receiving end...
Shouldn’t you be on Grindr not boards?

You seem in very bad mood, pal. Maybe some drugs would cheer you up? They might turn that frown upside down

So the “gym” is better than coming up on a couple of Mitsubishi’s?

    Get up the yard

The teenager who died recently. cannot copy paste .. Look up Jack Downey.

No underlying condition, and there have been others. I found pages on google .

These drugs can and do kill; why take a risk for what? a high?

While that is an awful tragedy, the question was about someone died after taking one ecstacy pill.

Where did you see this was what happened here?

I heard he took 7+ pills so it was an overdose more than likely.

I’ve know some people who took 15-20 gold bars in one night I’m thinking what the ****, how retarded can you be.

I would say a lot of the drug use in this country is down to depression, peer pressure and lack of guidance. There needs to be more support put in place to educate people, i have taken drugs and actually regret taking them I see it as a pure waste of time and money. There should be better alternatives made available to people.

There does need to be an education compaign.
Ecstacy tablets are now regularly over the 240-260 mg MDMA mark. It is not like years ago when the average reported strengths were usually 80-120mg.

Youngsters unaware can easily end up taking too large a dose.

Man, I wish I was you. Apart from being an unreasonable puritan or whatever, obviously.

Been off drink and drugs myself for a few months now with a view towards an every-6-months blowout with friends, replaced it with healthy eating, lots of exercise and I have to say no amount of working out replaces the high of a great bunch of previously-known friends talking absolute ****e on uppers. All of your fave people talking all of your favourite kinds of shít for 12hrs Vs 6 months of diet restrictions, peanut butter, no drugs and going "Yeah, well... I guess my biceps are bigger and my calves are toned. Great."

Really? So a pill is twice as strong today than 25 years ago?

Drugs are awesome and that needs to be understood of course there are downsides but It is like my old mother used to say: you shouldn't take drugs all the time or you won't feel the benefit when you go out.

Yup and you still see the same arguments all the time that MDMA/pills were better back in the day. Most of it is centered around the change in pre-cursor after the supply became limited and it got banned in places which made it harder to get which meant after it was made a different way.
We just know that before 2010 and not long after, safrole was used as the main precursor and now we get pmk glycidate. Back then 80-120mg dosage was all you need to be rocked hard. Now the dosages are all in the 160-250 range with most people needing 200 and above to get off. Something is just diff about the new stuff. It's still fun but it's missing some of the energy and euphoria the old stuff used to give off.

Each generation though I think might believe that due to the nature of the drug meaning that you are always going to romatise the time in which you started taking it as it is when it is most potent interacting with your brain chemistry and I fairly believe that experience denigrates badly over time. You will often hear people complaining they have lost the magic meaning that after taking the drug they experience a high but it lacks the underlying *awe that you can experience from extasy. *Catch all for the indescribable elements.

The first time you take extasy if what you are getting is good should be a completely unparalleled drug experience. The overwhelming sense of awe coupled with empathy, love, warmth and euphoria which hit you like a train. You have the drug itself doing its job but as with all things in life the first time the brain experiences anything wonderful because it is completely new it heightens the experience. I can still remember crystal clear writing this the moment it hit me that first time in a club and the smile spreading across my face and the complete sense of bliss. It isn't simply a high, it's indescribable to people who've never experienced it, even to people who've used other drugs but never rolled. It's an experience you'll never forget.

I don't know if used safely can you continue to experience the drug in that way because in those early days of taking extasy everyone rolled without consequence or thought for usage. Drug communities now have advice around how to take it safely without it messing with brain chemistry from research which is mainly centered around leaving long periods between rolls.

I'm getting on in years, but have decided that before I really put the the feet up I'd like to have another session. No interest in coke. Was talking to a few similarly aged friends of both sexes and they also seem eager. Something like an Underworld gig would be great.

Any other people in their late forties or early fifties who wouldn't mind another session?

You mean, yous all stopped taking yokes? I mean just for festivals and that, usually.

    Most definitely.

Bought pills last year where a third of a pill was like a normal pill back in the day, it was atrociously strong. Friend of mine took one all at once and he nearly dislocated his jaw within three hours of taking it, he was a sorry sight.

Gee whizz, if only we could somehow know the dosages and take these things safely with no danger of drug-dealer additives... Ah well, best to let people die due to ignorance, eh?

I'm in my late 40s, did my fair share of partying in the early to mid 90s and beyond. excuse my ignorance but what about this "Molly" I keep hearing about? Is it a pill? powder? available in Ireland? Is it comparable or better than the Es from the 90s? Would that not be a safer bet for older returning users?

I took pills 25 years ago and now am a once a year guy, pills are way way stronger now. A half a pill now would be similar to a double drop all those years ago. Pills today are not even comparable to the muck that was about a decade ago, way stronger and cleaner.
