What causes wrinkles?

I think there's isn't a lot of clarity on the difference between frown lines and wrinkles. Would I be right in saying that you don't develop any wrinkles before forty. What we get before forty are frown lines from the likes of smiling. I suppose you could call that a smile line! So I'm asking if higher levels of collagen can really stop frown lines forming at all.

Shouldn't this mean that women would end up with puppet lines that are deeper than men? Seeing as women smile more. I don't know if this is the case.

What if people didn't age in the biological sense? After a long time such people would still develop deep frown lines, and lines on their forehead from lying on their pillows. But they wouldn't get any wrinkles from natural ageing or from the sun. It would be interesting to see what the result would look like.

Well I already know that, but what about frown lines.

Does your wife take vitamin D?

Collagen is a natural substance in the skin that promotes smoothness and elasticity. As people get older, collagen levels decrease, although it's possible to use various creams and vitamins to slow down the process.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Sun, pollution, smoking, dehydration, bad nutrition, lack of sleep, stress, facial expressions and genetic factors all contribute to wrinkles.

As we get older, skin gets thinner, drier, and less elastic, and less able to protect itself from damage.

When we are younger the skin springs back, but as we age the skin loses its flexibility so frown lines, crows feet, smile lines and skin damage are more permanent.

Normally because they're looking for dodgy stuff like coke and hookers, but in this case, not sure.

Skin is nourished from the inside out. It's only women who follow trends or that lack a proper education believe in this cream nonsense. Aren't I right?

When I was younger my mother always insisted that wrinkles were caused by myself and my siblings. I don't have kids and am pretty much wrinkle-free, so it appears she was right.

Yes but you see teenagers with neck lines and furrows on the foreheads. So I wonder if collagen can really stop that occurring any more in a young person than in an older person?!

It is, but it can be damaged from the outside in via exposure to harsh chemicals and too much strong sun. Try running around in 30 degree heat with no sunblock and see what happens!

That happens about 5 days a year in this country.

What harsh chemicals? Do you work in a coal mine or something? Unless you're talking about harsh chemicals in makeup?

When was the last time you saw a coal miner with silky smooth skin...?

Loss of collagen, elasticity and hyaluronic acid, the skin stops holding onto water like it did when it was younger, collagen production starts to slow down at age 25 and decreases each year after that resulting in fine lines and eventually this will progress to deep wrinkles over time.
Men and women's skin age differently as men have much thicker skin than women.
Smoking, diet, sun exposure, lack of sleep and stress can accelerate skin aging but mostly it is down to genetics. That said, it will catch up with us all eventually.

Expression lines arent the same as wrinkles caused by aging, theyre caused by facial movement and are usually genetic or just apart of the persons face, theyre not caused by any reduction of collagen or skin aging, we all have lines on our skin regardless of age.

Ah but seriously, what chemicals do the 99.9% of people who don't work in coal mines become exposed to?

But does a higher collagen amount slow down expression lines forming? Like say, you wouldn't see a teenager with laughter lines like Mick Jagger.

Expression lines get worse over time due to the movement of the face, regardless of collagen production. Reduction in collagen production, elasticity and hydration will also deepen the lines over time

I'm lucky to have just a few fine lines on my forehead. There are people younger than I with crows feet.

I avoid the sun as much as possible, and wear factor 30 or 50 when in it. I'm really pale though - virtually zero melanin - so I'd have a high risk of skin cancer.

Redhead by any chance, R? Always thought that redheads seem to age better. Barring Carrot Top of course.

You asked what causes wrinkles, I told you. Are you implyimg that exposure doesn't cause harm?

It doesn't have to be sunny for damage to occur. UVA/ UVB days don't care whether it's sunny or cloudy. Obviously more care needs to be taken in sunnier weather but it's a misconception that only sunny weather causes damage. I wear SPF all year round.

What specifically are the harsh chemicals in makeup you're referring to?

You get wrinkles every time you masturbate.
    Stop masturbating = stop wrinkles

You have been told already. The primary cause is UV Rays (Exposure)
