I'd say it's a combination of Salah not passing the ball mainly and then getting subbed off a couple of minutes later when Salah never gets taken off himself.

Salah was taken off the game before last but I'd imagine Klopp is taking Mane and Bobby off more because they had less of a rest over the summer.

I don't get who Mane was remonstrating with on the bench if the problem he had was Salah (who was still on the pitch) not putting him in for an almost certain goal?

I suspect he was just ranting to the bench, not at anyone in particular. And rightfully so, Mo should have passed.

    Next few league fixtures

    Newcastle H
    Chelsea A
    Sheffield Utd A
    Leicester H
    Man Utd A
    Spurs H

Utd will be a tough fixture.

Always a great atmosphere at Bramill lane.

It's now a 34 game season, and we start wit a 2pt lead. I fear we may need to hold this lead right to the end. We won't give it up easily, that's for sure.
At home next, City away to the over confident Norwich.

As mentioned think it was the benches decision to take him off instead of Salah just after that happened.

Mane’s def the one who needs to be rested at every opportunity though, had way less time off over the summer than anyone else and there’s a very long season ahead.

Not just this game but Salah seems reluctant to pass to Mane at times.

It is his only fault as Salah's passing & creating of chances is generally underrated

Say he was complaining to one of the coaches. Saying he was open and Salah didn't pass and you need to say something to him?

I was actually going to look for the MU fixture, hope ole is still there by the time we play them!

That was an extremely good performance, especially there against that lot and with a weak ref to boot. Love Mane's passion and he's not wrong either, Mo pisses me right off sometimes. The clean sheet very important too.

He has no international duty so two weeks rest for him now.

No, you know the drill - he gets sacked 24 hours after we play them.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

What was that whole Zouma thing about from Kelly to VVD?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,567 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Very odd there from Kelly interviewing Virgil. She began to ask him about Zouma being racially abused for scoring an OG today, and then completely dropped the subject and moved on. Wonder what that was about?

Fabinho looking like a bargain, and only 25. One would think he was 29.

2.54 points per game average last season, but he only got going 1/2 through season.

Having him firing right from the off this season will only benefit us.

No idea. VVD looks as confused as we do.

Fab is Inspector Gadget love it from VVD :)

think she said she got wrong information that it was ok to ask that question about Zouma,

Based on their coverage over the first month Sky have clearly been told to sensationalise more this season, she probably has her producer in her ear "ask about the racial abuse!" "ask about Mane! does he hate Salah?"

Getting racially abused on Twitter for the OG, hardly surprising

He probably should have passed, but given that Mane has been very guilty of the same stuff in the past, it was a bit OTT. Think Salah has 3 assists now already.

    Nor has Harry Kane :pac:

Good game, any win at Turf Moor is like Napoleon taking Moscow. 3-0 with a clean sheet would be like avoiding being banished St Helena and victory at Waterloo

You've come over a bit Eric Cantona here, Harry.

But why ask VVD he wouldn't have seen it as he would have been preparing for our game.

I'm just so confused as to why Sky thought van Dijk would have anything to say on the Zouma thing, as far as I'm aware the two don't have any sort of relationship together and Zouma conceded the OG less than an hour before our game kicked off, he wouldn't have even heard about it.

Sky having to explain the whole Zouma/VVD thing now.

Was it not a completely daft question to someone who was straight off the pitch in his own game? I'm sure Virgil had no clue what she was on about.
