just looking at the map again, Terminus is marked as a tent, so that's probably all correct.

    EP19_5163_Public-Map_1080x1080px_NO-VAPE-1024x1024.jpg

I think the colossus thing they mentioned is the area around the tent in Freetown in general, that's what so take from it anyway. Wording could have been a bit better on the original press release maybe. Also agree that Spike Island dosent seem to fit in this are too well. Any acts that are announced seem like somber acoustic type stuff. Seems an odd area to have it.

This might be a stupid question but I see 'Cynema' listed as performing on Body & Soul Sanctuary stage at 2.45am on Sunday night/Monday morning - is this the Irish producer who used to go by 'Cinema' after undergoing a name change or is it someone else?

I remember a few cool Cinema tunes and a really good live set in Cork a few years ago but wasn't aware of a name change, if one happened, or is it just a similar name!

Yep this is the same fella, changed spelling of name recently. He is a good friend of mine and will definitely be where I am ending my weekend! Some of the live stuff is brilliant and will be well suited to that time of night. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes live electronic music.

Cheers Ferris - would second that recommendation now that I know it's the same person! :D

Friday is a bit light early on, apart from the doors / smiths tributes.

There's plenty on early Saturday for me. **All are on before 6PM**
Bootleg beach boys - Amy Montgomery - jessica Pratt - TBL8 brass band - Badhands - Otherkin - Crow black chicken - Just mustard.

Sunday has Bicurious - Touts - KKC - Autre Monde all before 6PM, with Johnny F'n Marr on @ 6.

I'd add Galway street club to that list. I saw them at the Carlow arts festival and thought they were great. Playing early on the Friday and Sunday

    Body & Soul stages
    Trailer park stages
    Hazelwood
    Global Green
    Theatre of Food
    other Mindfield stuff
    Transmission
    Pubail Gaeilge
    Just Eat Retreat

Some of these are on the app now, - eg Trailer Park & Body & Soul, but some are not on app, but were on todays Irish Times article, like a good bit of Mindfield & Theatre Of Food, Liviathon.

Havent seen anything at all on Hazelwood, Global Green & Transmission & Just Eat Retreat.

Saw him play Lumo Club in Tengu a couple of years back and he was brilliant.
Really enjoyed the mini album he released too.

She's top of my spotify playlist atm. Really looking forward to her. I may lose my mind a bit when/if she plays Best American Girl. :o

FWIW, Pink Moon is brilliant. Campsite beside the arena, great quality toilets and showers, private bar and the general punter in my experience has been incredibly nice.

    Well worthwhile investment for me.

    YES!!!

Saw her in a really small venue in Cork two years ago and when she played it it was amazing. Can't wait to see what's it's like in a bigger tent

Ha I was trying to find out about the curfew. So is it 3am cut off...that's actually graaand! Thought it was 12/1

Don't think it's a curfew in that you have to be in your tent by a certain time etc. You can come and go as you want but they say "respect your neighbours" so sitting outside your tent till 4am chatting and blasting music is frowned upon..

My timetable is a bit light earlier in the days with a lot of gaps (apart from multiple clashes after 9pm). I need to fill it out a bit.

Has anyone any tips for acts that don't excite particularly on recordings but put in stunning live performances?

Really enjoyed Just Mustard at ATN, on at 17.45 Saturday, The Scratch, Viagra Boys and White Reaper all also on before 9 on Sat, pretty sure they'll all be fantastic live. Touts, Powpig, Heavy Lungs and Bodega look good before 9 on the Sunday.

Yep it was in a press release earlier in the year, well Terminus was to be specific.

"Anchored by Terminus, a brand new 8,000 capacity mega-stage for electronica and dance (presented as an Eastern Bloc architectural colossus), Freetown will rise from the ground for just 4 days of the year."

Maybe the 2 Johnnies are playing a DJ set :P

8k is the same size as the EA. They're obviously planning on some decent dance acts to fill that. Groove Armada DJing, Bicep, Richie Hawtin & some others will. If planned well it'll draw a fair crowd from the main arena.

It's the old EA tent, EA has supposedly gotten an upgrade.

So just had texts from friends who are on site for media day and the ground is good!
Main Arena should hold good as they have such a good drainage system in place.

The main arena ground has held up every year bar 2008. That year had several weeks of heavy rain in advance of the fest, not the case this year. Campsites may not be great though.

    Help..:)

We have weekend camping tickets and we are going Friday, our two kids can only come with us on Saturday but I was told we have to bring them in Friday for us all to get wristbands at the same time,.... doesn't sound right?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,112 ✭✭✭endainoz

Are many following that Laois Today storey on Instagram? People asking about where they could bring cans and they said it seems to stop at Hazelwood and the campsites, so Hazelwood won't be part of the main arena like salty dog will be?

She, along with Parquet Courts were on my small list of must-see's, ranging that they are clashing.

Only managed to get a few songs of their set the last time the P'Courts played EP, so might have to give them the majority of the time slot

Yes that's right. You won't get into Family Camping without kids, and they need to be registered on the EP website beforehand.
