I know this was a hard match to call before, and small things would make abig difference, but it's still surprising to see how a red card turned it from a balanced match to a stroll. At times it was training match stuff this half.

When it’s this close between them it should make a huge difference really. As long as you use the spare man effectively you should win every game then

Based on what? Tipp Galway Limerick will be three favourites I think. Wouldn’t rate Limerick any higher than that. Lot of hyperbole about them for one All
Ireland. They got lucky enough against Cork last year and lost to what now looks a relatively ordinary KK team this year.

Limerick were dire in the first 25 mins but they still caught up to KK. The players and Kiely will be kicking themselves and they will definitely up their game next year.

Tipp were much improved in the second half though - couldn't win their own puckout in the first half and had a serious amount of turnovers, which they sorted out in the second half. O Sheas matrix clicked.

Kilkenny going long ball the whole time in the second half was ridiculous - they could see where the extra man was yet persisted with the long ball. Maher has kept Reid very quiet as well

Tipp are aging so difficult to see them win back to back in this format. Galway and Limerick would be my guess for next year.

In fairness tipp totally outdoing them now. The better team to win... I am still disgusted at the sending off though ... anyways congrats tipp

Limerick with Davy Fitz would dominate hurling for a few years. Kiely cost Limerick in the semi.

Wexford must be kicking themselves with how they responded when they went a men up against Tipp in the semi final.

Delighted the Galway minors won. 3 in a row.

Yeah don’t think Tipp will do back to back either but two All Irelands in four years, lost by a point to winners in other year, will definitely be up there as favourites betting wise.

Awful lot of talk about Limerick though for a team that won one All Ireland, people were acting this summer like they were Kilkenny from ten years ago.

More than Eamon O’Sheas matrix remember Eamon was manager for 3 yrs and they won no all Ireland.... think Eamons magic might be overstated a lot

Hopefully next year we mite get a good final they have been ****e since 2013

A sending off is always liable to have a big effect on a match.

But the big counterpoint is that when Tipp went a man and 5 points down in semi final, they dug in, fought and took smart scores and then won.

If anything if I was a Tipp man, that semi win over Wexford would be real cause for celebration than today when watching the cup be lifted.

Callanan swearing on national television :pac:

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. It's not fair that rte (or whoever) interviews lads on the pitch just after running themselves into the ground.

TJ didn't score from play in as many games as he did. He can hook and paw balls all he wants but no way is he at the same level as Shefflin. What a record for Callanan though. Unprecedented.

Ronan Maher hurler of the year.

Asking Seamie about the red card on the field! Ffs

That's for later tonight for some analysts

Not one of the winning players..

They have a big squad and youth on their side but like KK they're short a bit of quality. I think they'll be in the shake up by virtue of their other qualities.
Galway and Tipp have been the most consistent teams of the last 5 to 6yrs. Normally one taking the other out.

Why? Are you forgetting 2008 when the final was over after 25 mins

Reminiscent of bubbles moment which seemed totally intentional unlike this one.
