Ah, the Year of the Bjork.
Ben Klock in the woods that year on the Friday.

Thanks for reminding me, always nice to wheel this clip out again. :)

Trying to pin down a Main Stage electronic act:

Underworld - playing Fall In Love festival in Bucharest, 31st August which is the Saturday. Not sure if a trip from Stradbally to Romania is feasible in 24 hours. Probably rules them out for the Sunday too.
    https://underworldlive.com/events/fall-in-love-romania/

Chemical Brothers - nothing listed past Creamfields, England on 24th August. Chances.
    https://www.thechemicalbrothers.com/live

Groove Armada - probably ruled out by recent Irish gig in Dublin but nothing on the calendar between appearances in Spain 25th August and 6th September.

It's going to be Fatboy Slim, isn't it? Clear schedule after a show in Ibiza, 24th August.

Please no. He was appalling in 2005. Little better in 2013 for the 30 mns I caught after the Valentines. Though I'd welcome him back if Kevin Shields tagged along.

    A car full of tickets?

Or tickets for a car full of people?

Either way, I like your ambition.

EP posted this pic on Twitter "Build begins"

This could well be Freetown. It looks like the path that goes right through Wilde, Salty dog left of the pic?

First I've seen a decent sized version of that, cheers for posting.
Agreed, definitely looks like the late Oscar Wilde.

The positioning would make sense as sound will be pointing away from salty dog and othervoices/NewThree.

    The freeflow question remains!!

    OPERATION FREEFLOW
We tunnel in from the woods and emerge behind a rake of bins.
Need everyone at peak fitness for this.

Yes the more I think about it... it would be impossible to extend the arena boundary.

Happy Mondays playing Waterford 24th August.
Touring their Greatest Hits at the moment (although when are they not?).
    Have they ever played EP?
Can't remember them being on the line-up since I started going (2011).

got an upgrade to Pink Moon as a pressie - would a double mattress fit in the Pink Moon tents or better off with 2 singles?

Up to now i have been ok but starting to feel a bit like last year now in terms of getting pissed off. No Jerry or last main arena announcements new 3 area to announce acts on 22nd (ffs it starts on the 30th and bands in that area likely to be less well known so research needed). What is the problem with announcing things in plenty of time? Grrrrrrrr. Old man grumpiness setting in.

You can hire a mattress there, there not the inflatable ones.

Wonder where the Eco entry will be this year? Suspect it'll be further along the path that runs through the back of Anachronica than last time. Does the Eco site run the full distance of that path that ends out where Warhol/Joplin sites meet?

There will be a few in this thread with something to say about this.

    Why!!??

    Why!!??

because bringing kids to a festival, even if EP is 'family friendly', is a terrible idea

Don't ruin another thread with that shít....

I too am entering into the Grump Ba$tard phase of the EP cycle. We were supposed to get an announcement today.

I look on the researching of bands in advance as homework and I hate rushing my ****ing homework!

    Why!!??

Amazingly, there are a number of boardsies who are convinced that children should be banned from festivals. For some it even detracts from their own enjoyment. The rest of us are just fine with it.

I heard an advert on Today FM this morning for the E.P. It's advertised as a family festival. Any people who have a problem with folks taking their kids should really take it up with the E.P. organisers.

    Why!!??

Because there were a few trolls on the ATN thread slagging off parents bringing kids. Infantile stuff. And not at all what the huge majority on this thread (and on site) actually think.

Personally I believe that EP without kids would be a much less friendlier, mellow and enjoyable fest.

Stationmaster, here's hoping you and your family have an excellent weekend.
