LambsEye!! she was this beautiful wild red headed girl who just disappeared :(

Someone just popped into my head...who was the guy who wore a red dress to an AH beers before as a dare? Think he was from cork.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Abi/Abigail, although she turned out to be a crazy.

    Mini-Dazzler?

    What a legend!!!

Oh wait, so he wasn’t in the taxi? Just on the phone or something?

The guy got a taxi the whole way into the quays from Kildare (I think). When he got to the place where arranged, he rang “the girl” (bubbles) who just laughed into the phone. Then you heard the realisation hit, he knew it was bubbles pretty much straight away. Audio was posted on AH within minutes of the call!

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Amp yet. I remember being in school and reading his/ her/ its meanderings and thinking I would love to be able to write like that. I still can't. And they just disappeared like a puff of smoke.

Was going to mention Shinji and amp earlier. There was JuniorShabadu (I think), nesf, simu, bard and eth0. All old schoolers.

Denerick was another one. Anyone remember him?

Nodin was another who got dogs' abuse, very unfairly.

Did nesf once create a massive upset by leaking stuff from the mods' forum or something? Or who was that? It was quite scandalous at the time. Maybe 2005.

Never remember him getting abuse here. Seemed like an alright poster to me.

Anyone else remember PlaneSpeaking & her other incarnations?
    Such a bizarre character.
I remember being genuinely open mouthed at how vitriolic some of her posts were and then minutes later she’d be posting nice as pie on some of the more lighthearted AH threads. It was unnerving.

I don’t know. Never heard that myself though I know there've been various leaks over the years.

Dragan is another name that’s come back to me just there.

Did Boston ever post in After Hours, or did he cause most of his trouble elsewhere?

Dragan is synonymous with bollix in my head, but I couldn't say why. Can't remember who he is or what he modded, but I couldn't stand him.

Then again I used to hate WhiteWashMan and now I think he should be running the place. I grow old, I grow old, I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled. (That was Permabear.)

Coolsmileygirl and Kiera were two big personalities in AH back in the day. There always seemed to be a lot of drama around them, but they were entertaining.

Was gonna say Kiera, used to know her online elsewhere and then at one stage she just disappeared from everywhere.

Yeah, he would want to talk about romanticism in Russian literature and all they wanted to talk about was football.

The Backwards Man was the only person who would pm you at 3am just to ask if you were ok. Fat Christy was great too.

    My favourites were

    Sarky
    Karl Hungus
    Amp/Pam
    Amz
    Ruu
    Tar Aldarion
    Beruthiel
    Whoopsadaisydoodles
    Whitewashman
    Monty
    Boston

I wouldn't be able to spot a re-reg if they jumped up and hit me, especially on mobile.

I would give an awful lot to have a conversation with Rozabeez (RIP) about the awful nerds on the junior cert forum which is where we were when we joined.

Anyone remember Jackass/Philologos. The last boards member to try to defend belief in god openly and with any actual genuine earnest that makes it sound like they are even all the convinced themselves?

There has been no good god debates - or in his case no bad ones riddled with obvious fallacies either - since he gave up on it all :) The forum is not the same without at least one regular god botherer.
I think that’s TaxAHCruel and pretty sure he’s still here.

Ah... yeah. Oops :pac: Not as versed in my history of posters as others, I really only keep to my own little corner for the most part!

After this I got two PMs asking am I still here and if I am ok :) Thanks all!

I am here - just I am a dad again for the third time and time is tight. Just when we got it to two kids sleeping perfectly through the night - we go and have another baby.

I just had a look at his profile, almost completely deleted.

Any posts that remain say "this post is deleted"

Didn't know you could do that.

There was a brief period of time where you could. It was when boards.ie was unsure of GDPR. You can’t anymore but some forum members took full advantage while you could.

I immediately thought of someone who specifically hated Irish women (not just women - that would be harder to narrow down ;)) and a two-syllable name. Hasn't posted publicly in about 18 months but profile does say last active only two days ago. Amirite? :)

    Bingo! Nice work. ;)

Yeah, I thought she might be fake at the time too but I don’t actually think she was.
Liah was real and sadly passed away in Dec 2018

    - Edit -

I have been PM'd a couple of times about the details, she passed on Dec 30 in New Brunswick. I don't have any details to share beyond that. Anyone who knew her will find her obituary & condolence pages.

Surprised to see how many people know each other offline.
Here was me thinking this place was for anti-social misfits like myself to talk without the stresses of face-to-face interaction, but now I see you've all been off having all kinds of sex and real-life adventures behind my back!!

Had to look at this for nostalgia, few names there that I do remember that I miss now like Dudess, tbh and Marksie.

Pighead used to make me laugh a lot in his posts, the man had a gift.

Miss the board beers too, I had about 2 years where I went to a lot of them but then kids and work and everything hit all at once and it seemed very hard to get to them....might make a big effort for the next one I can do.
Well I for one am glad you're still around.

I also remember Permabear, mainly because his posts were so well written and he never seemed to make any grammar or spelling mistakes. However, I didn't agree with his political or economic views.

Permabear was an insufferably smug libertarian, parody or no parody. Had his acolytes, attacking others in unison when called out on outlandish politics. Strangely enough, none of those posters are active today...
