Assume le galaxie and mother djs will be confirmed for jerry fish then. I do think its strange daithi isnt playing this year

It was Chic and Passenger announced in the last week wasnt it?

I think Passenger was added no more than a couple of days from the first day. Not sure it was a planned announcement as much as something fell into place, believe he was in Ireland that weekend, and took one of the 'surprise' slots on Other Voices.

Le Galaxie appear to half self confirmed.

All we need now is Hot Chip and Chic and the EP Annual Tifecta will be complete

Where are you seeing Le Galaxie self confirm? Jerry Fish announcement is coming tomorrow isn't it, so would hope that maybe there will be another announcement on Friday.

They are really dragging the ass out of this last announcement, I've got over the non Aphex Twin slot at this stage I don't think he's ever been announced so close to an event and will probably be not now. People mentioning Chic, they were great last year but need to take a break from Ireland for five years until they tour with Daft Punk and no chance of Hot Chip as they've just played ATN. So it looks like Friday then for the last names.

Are we missing the Sunday afternoon Main Stage ska/reggae act?
Or am I missing something from the line-up?

EDIT - and can it be The Specials pls?

So who's hoping for a big announcement today? Have a small feeling we will get one before lunch time!

    Thursday I reckon.

And wouldn’t put it past FR to do a big announcement timed to coincide with ATN early birds.

I didn't stay up late on the Sunday - if you saw a black long-sleeve KLF top at Josh Wink though that was definitely me. What a set! :D

I reckon ATN could sit tight for a while - they made a lot of noise about having to do better next year and make it up to the people who were stuck in traffic for the Friday so I'd say they'll hold off until they come up with a decent solution there. Presumably it'll just be a loyalty discount but they would want to make sure they get the press release right this time after the ****e they issued during the festival.

I'd guess EP announcement on Wednesday and there might even some silly Just-Eat tie-in or something else late in the week too. Lots to announce and not much time left until the festival starts.

Razorlight to be the "biggest" name in final act announcement?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 230 ✭✭haitens

Has anyone any info on the new area Freetown or is it Spike Island? Am I right in thinking it's gonna be where the Oscar Wilde campsite is? Just looking at the aerial map hard to see where they are gonna put all those people who normally camp there and like being close to the entrance plus the extra few thousand this year.

Would be shocked if they were. Legends in their own lunch time.

I'd say FR aren't one bit worried about ATN now.

All good points but won't ATN want to get some early bird cash in the bank before EP release theirs? Surely they'll be concerned about losing some people to EP after some of the feedback this year.

Yeah dying to see the new map, I heard some vicious rumours that that salty dog trench town etc and Freetown (Oscar wilde) will be part of the main arena so say goodbye to having your cans at these spots if that ends up happening!

Would be very disappointing if this was the case.

Wondering what the craic is with these EP water bottles too - if you bought one of those at 20 brick would they let you into the main arena with it? Our bottle of water we were using to refill was taken off us at the Salty Dog entrance on the way in last year. Available for pre-order here. Bit vague on the details aside from the price.

I'd say it's exactly the same as what you get on the day for a tenner, new smaller sized booklet and lanyard.

That's exactly it. I buy one every year then it gets left in the tent, so I can't actually remember if all stages are covered. Pretty sure they are.

Jayz lads, have to say I am really struggling with this lineup. I've gone through every act announced so far in the main arena announcements and so far I am really struggling to find things that catch my interest, even some of the ones I have an interest ins are ones I probably would have only had on my maybe list in years gone by. So far I have Florence, Christine & the Queens, Four Tet, The Streets, Metronomy, Shura, Le Boom, Talos, DJ Seinfeld and Girl in Red. Really hoping they pull a rabbit out of the hat in the next announcement as this is by a distance the least interest I've ever had in the lineup.

Has anyone got any suggestions from the Body & Soul area to check out? International Teachers of Pop sound okay but haven't listened to too many others yet.

King Kong company are always fantastic. I was listening to the B&S playlist and Thumper sound excellent. I’m definitely checking them out.

Would be surprised if Lamb weren't to your taste.

And no interest in The Strokes?

Initial thoughts for me (minus a bit of homework, to be done over the next few weekends):

    Four Tet
    Jarvis Cocker
    Johnny Marr
    Richie Hawtin
    Roisin Murphy
    The Streets
    Amelie Lens
    Courtney Barnett
    Echo & the Bunnymen
    Otherkin
    Sons of Kemet
    Maceo Plex
    These Charming Men
    Interskalactic
    Montauk Hotel
    Bazza Ranks & MC Dynamite
    Lamb
    Gaudi
    Ryan Vail & Elma Orkestra

Haven't counted the oul Rave in the Woods in this, also hoping for a bit more jungle/DnB aside from MC Dynamite. Looking forward to schedule clashes.
