Couldn’t believe the amount of so called ‘experts’ blindly backing Tyrone.

They are exceptionally fit and have a manager who can typically set them up well enough to be competitive. Outside of that they are not realistic contenders for the All Ireland. The reality is they haven’t been for quite some time.

    Backing them to beat Monaghan?

It was hardly the most outlandish thing in fairness.

Blindly doing so though without a proper analysis of both teams. Nature of the ‘punditry’ beast I suppose. I’d Monaghan backed from very early on this year, just couldn’t see Tyrone doing it.

Your hatred for Tyrone is hilarious. Look at your posts in the Donegal thread after you were soundly beaten by ourselves last weekend. Are those the posts of an adult? You know if a fighter loses a fight he's always judged on how well he takes the loss. Would you say you took it well from those comments you made or you took it like a child? Anyways you're out now, should've been slaughtered moreso tbh, the fluke goal got us out of our defensive shape and showed just how attacking we can be when down yet again.

See you next year, McBrearty will fix the huge lack of depth in your panel and your entire teams fitness level I'm sure! Enjoy routing against us.

    Why wouldn't we?

You must have much to talk about now:)

My previous post was deleted and im now being asked to edit the post you replied to. No one mentioned who i was talking about yet they believe overlords meant them. Bit full of themselves and a bit proving what i was stating if you ask me.

A lof of ppl want this thread active. I and others can take a slagging (which i deserve for my prediction vs the dubs last year). Trying to act like hitler himself on a msg board is truly ridiculous.

Not the first time theyve been complained about as im sure you know.

I have no idea what you're being so defensive about.

Yes, a more active Tyrone thread would be welcome, but it ain't gonna happen with that attitude.

We won our championships being defensive what can i say lol. But we all know youre covering yourself.

    What are you on about?

I can post wherever I like and have done in here for many years, usually with Jayop as the only Tyronian in town.

You seem to be getting bristly over nothing.

It must be my mental health disorder. Who created my angst also slagged of jayop at the same time.

Anyways lets be stoic. Tired of bickering over what should be fun for everyone. Donegal vs Tyrone in Monaghan. Will be the game of the Ulster championship i believe.

    It usually is.

I'm very much looking forward to it.

    Can't beat Ulster really!

(You're only bickering with yourself mind)

And i love how this thread was left. Looking forward to beating Donegal this year haha. Difficult game but I believe we have improved our forwards.

Id fear Monaghan more in this situation but Donegal have it in themselves to beat us also. Great team, mcbrearty is one of the best forwards in the country and back in great form.

A significant win today Strabanimal, I agree Morgan has gone flakey on the long frees, better off taking them away from him as it must have an impact on the rest of his game.
    What are the options?

It's not just that. The GK/MF role is so important and I think he is past it.

The frees today just exemplified how much we need a replacement. Who? There's a few I can think of but to change it at this late of a stage in the championship with Morgan's experience would be another reason to give MH's spell a great injustice.

Not impressed by Dublin at all today. Dominated in that first half convincely and we have the fitness to keep that up for 70. Fingers crossed we get past Kerry

2nd half was but Mayo had plenty of misses, going for goal opportunities squandered

I don't understand how losing the first half and then winning the 2nd convincely makes you invicible-like

I posted a link below about a deeply powerful and emotional story regarding 2019 Football All-Star from Tyrone, Ronan McNamee. He faced the abyss but at least in this case, he got great support from close family and friends, which saved his life. Depression is like a silent killer.

Everyone on this island has been affected one way or another with depression and mental health issues, whether its yourself, a family member or close friend. Great to see that he turned to his mother at his hour of need too, which is most nice to see. From my own past experiences of mental health issues, I know that either one of your parents support throughout this most challenging time of your life, is of the greatest significance to you.

As I write this post today, I am going through a very difficult time at the moment, with a close family member having suffered a serious illness. This has been a very tough year for the family personally. However the greatest gift that anyone can have, is having a person who cares for you throughout good times and bad.

Without going into too much detail, I believe that is spite of this person's hardship which is very upsetting as I write this, this individual has been the bedrock for me having a good standard of life and really helping me along the way, when I went through very tough times myself, a good number of years also. I thank this person every day, for all the great things that I overcome and will be a better person for it.

I hope that Ronan can find peace in himself and that by coming out in public, will inspire more people, who are going through rough times at this present moment and get the help and above all else the support, that it's okay to feel a bit down and low, now and again. An emotional read this from this Irish News article. Brilliantly put together by journalist Cahair O'Kane, it is a really tough read but hopefully now that Ronan can enjoy his life, both on and off the pitch now and continue to showcase his wonderful talents on the GAA fields.

Finally I want to say Well done to Ronan, for being so open about this most sensitive of issues. You are an inspiration to others facing this very same predicament, throughout this island and beyond.

    Great post.

Ronan is an inspiration to all with any mental health issues. His openness re his demons can only increase awareness amongst the general population re same.

A welcome reminder too that we should always be mindful about what we post about our wonderful amateur players within the association who give us such joy.

Looks like 2019 All-Star Cathal McShane is about to change codes from GAA to AFL, according to the Irish News, see link below. He is set to sign a 2 year contract with the Brisbane Lions.

With one team sweeping the all Ireland annually this will be become even more common.

As opposed to players being offered a professional lifestyle with smashing t&cs plus all other mod cons or living in Ireland and playing under Micky Harte?

Really nothing to do with the Dubs apart from a Meath man with an axe to grind.

He's a massive loss for Tyrone if he does head for Oz but who can blame the lad.

A really top class forward which is in short supply.

Great to see McShane stick around. The game is better with players like him playing.

For parking on Sunday, will it be posted or can anyone recommend where to drop the car?
