    Voting for Sagat.

    Proper mans man. Face like a bowl of mashed spuds, hes not afraid to take a smack. And that scar down the chest...like he took a sword slash but you know he still got up and tore the head of whomever wielded it.

    Could never warm to Ryu. Sometimes when youre told this guys the hero, adore him....you just cant. Honestly, hes a tad boring and generic. Sagat is cool as F*ck, he doesnt care what you think of him.

    In the story it's literally part of Sagat's character that Ryu beat him. Ryu is almost the stereotypical Japanese hero and his moves are all iconic anime attacks (ki blast, dragon fist). I'll have to choose Ryu.

    Ryu.

    My pick from the start. Man could rock a headband!

    Sagat is ultra cool too, one of the better bosses in the game. If not the best. But Ryu to me, is Street Fighter. The poster boy. The franchise. The Main event. The Icon. The master of disaster. I'll stop now....

    From the fireballs, to the uppercuts, to the hurricane kick, Ryu has it all. Can even blast out a red fireball from time to time. Has the Ax Kick, the roundhouse, the leg sweep, and some fantastic throws.

    Gets my vote every time

    Ryu for me. As Gerry said, he's iconic. Himself and M Bison are who I think of when I think of Street Fighter. A major reason I'm going with him is that his Hadouken fireball has arguably transcended the video game franchise. You see it it pop up in other mediums like Pro Wrestling, break-dancing and football celebrations.

    So it has come down to this!! Good versus Evil. Hadouken versus Tiger. Excellent final.

    I really want the fighting genre's most recognizable and virtuous hero Ryu to do the business here but can he? The Thai beast Sagat will be dead set on revenge having been defeated and scarred in their original legendary scrap. Plus, with M. Bison out of the picture he is set to become the numero uno baddie if he wins.

    However, Ryu has done it before and he will do it again.

    Overcoming the height disadvantage with a monumental series of Shoryukens, Ryu becomes Street Fighter champ and all is right in the world.

    Probably Sagat for me. Was a very difficult character to beat, had great long rang sweeps, had low and high fireball attacks and even his high kick could catch you in the air if you were going for an auld jump kick.

    Plus Muay Thai is a legit martial art while most karate styles out there are for fannies.

    I’ll plug for Sagat.

The bland pyjamas wearing everyman Ryu will be dead set on revenge having been outshone by the uber cool Thai beast Sagat who is also a big hit with the ladies in Chiang Mai. Plus, with M. Bison out of the picture he is set to become the numero uno baddie if he wins.

    However, Ryu has failed to be cool before and he will do it again.

    Overcoming the coolness factor will only be half the battle, as midget boy Ryu will also have to counter Sagat’s height advantage. Sagat will become Street Fighter champ and all is right in the world.

    My vote is for Sagat.
