    Nice thread OP.

There are lots of things I am grateful for but I'm not always able to really FEEL it. Like I know on a cognitive level what they are but there are days when it just doesn't land.

    Today I am grateful for:
Being able to sit beside the sea.
    Good company.
    Listening to myself.
    Hugs.
    Being honest.

    Oh I *totally* get that.

Often I’m writing this list to try and trick myself into feeling grateful for things I know I should be grateful for even if I’m not feeling it in the moment.

Being born in a country where I can take plentiful food, clean water, medicine and education for granted. Not far from the countryside and the sea. A small population so no crazy crowding. No war, no famine, people are free to criticise the government all they want.

A great family (some people's family situations are shocking).

No financial worries. Doesn't mean I'm loaded but I have enough to live comfortably.

My health - never any issues of much concern so far, and I can afford health insurance; some people have severe disfigurements, or are confined to a wheelchair. Any things bothering me about my appearance are just stupid, trivial things, some of which I can change myself.

Having a full-time permanent job - it's not a great job but permanent jobs seem to be decreasing in supply.

    My friends.

    Shur I know. :D

Don't get me wrong - there are things about Ireland that piss me off hugely, but that doesn't mean there aren't positives to be embraced.

At the moment, Guinness Draught in a can.:D

Apparently it's another day now & I'm in an advanced state of refreshment now.

Today I'm grateful for my semi-retired fathers extensive collection of Half Man Half Biscuit CDs.

    I'm 51 BTW.

That's pretty amazing. Most much younger people wouldn't have a clue who HMHB were.

I'm grateful for the presence of oxygen that facilitates my continued existence on this planet. Don't sweat trivial matters of no significance.

    Whats yours?

I slipped twice in a year writing to my cheating tramp of an ex. Won't be a third.

I send out a few bottles now....
