Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone have insider knowledge about these competitions - specifically I'd like to know do you have a better chance of winning if you are signed up to marketing emails etc.. I use a dedicated email for the comps so I could probably be ticking those boxes

I tick them and I don't see any difference (apart from getting a lot of emails). You can always unsub later. But it's a good way to find out about subscriber only comps.

    Hi,

Just throwing it out there. Any Coke, Coke Zero, Fanta, Dr.Pepper drinkers out there not interested in the Premier League codes. If you’re not using them I’d love to claim your codes.

Hi. Are there any links to competitions where you pay? For example, €100 to play for a chance to win a house, etc? Cheers.

WIN a brand new semi-detached home worth over €400,000 in Maynooth, Co. Kildare!

A brand new, 2-bedroom apartment in Ballintemple, Cork

    (182) Nissan Leaf EV FULLY ELECTRIC Car worth over €30,000

    I take it you're not wanting a heifer or a bull :D

There is also a facebook page with pay to enter comps for Ireland, but I can't mind the name of it. I gave it a miss, feels like a pyramid sort of thing and I'm pretty sure there is a website like that too.

Has anyone else stopped receiving replies from 50400? Contacted Vodafone about it and they weren't any help! Wondering if my entries are still getting through.

I entered 2 comps on 50400 last night and got a reply for both.

Has anyone been able to figure out how to get responses again from 50400. I used to get the for every competition. They just stopped on Saturday, Vodafone have been no help with trying to fix it. Not sure where to go next?

I know a lot of people get replies regardless of network. I was getting replies untill last week. I was just wondering if anyone managed to fix not getting replies as I know a few people have had this issue

As was mentioned before, I'm wondering if I should post pay to enter competitions?
Like the raffles to win a house, car, cow etc. Keep on the main thread, or start a new thread for pay to enter?

I know there are a couple of places like lottery comps, but I'm not going to list them as it's like gambling.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,522 ✭✭✭Gormal

I think Twitter is one of the best social platforms to try win competitions. You can search for specific things you want to win

Are you finding less now than before, with the new twitter look... I'm finding less this year than last year.

I think there are less competitons in general. There's definitely less on Twitter. They might have moved to insta but I haven't figured out how to find competitions on insta

I wouldn't bother really, don't mind the text ones from RTE etc but the charity house raffles are getting really common now and they're not really competitions, they're really expensive too.

Nothing against people looking for them and entering themselves, but they're not the main idea of the thread. Probably not enough either to open a new thread.

Purchase a product to enter is also fine in my opinion, allows people to decide themselves.

Something like the St James Hospital car raffle to me is a grey area - €5 a ticket for a charity. Wouldn't be entering these prolifically but if I was in the shop I would buy tickets anyway.

Are people entering via log in or via FB messenger?

I’m entering with FB messenger. I hope I’m not wasting my time.

Which day did they tell you you'd won?

I know the weeks run Monday -> Sunday, but curious as to when the winners are told...

Well it's kind of a grey area to me. I don't mind the €5 ticket but wouldn't spend more than that. Some might be quite happy to spend more depending on the prize.

Have put up a raffle on main thread for BMW 318d Sport Saloon at €20 a ticket or 6 for €100 for those interested. Everyone can bypass it, if they want.
