Kilkenny will be favourites for the final now so people can stop with stop with the writing off Kilkenny narrative.

Bit of an exaggeration going on.
He said he fancied Limerick by 5,6,7 points.

Raging hot favourites, just like Wexford are tomorrow, isn't that right?

It’s fierce hard to keep up the momentum to win again- just ask Galway! Hurling is after becoming very competitive (which is great) the last few years with a good half dozen real contenders any year. Hates breath between them on the day

Set to be 5 different finalists out of a total of 6 in the last 3 years.

And that's without Cork, and maybe even Tipperary

No id have tomorrow evens as would most. Kilkenny might not like favourites tag but they will be for the final like it or not.

Yes dont know what's confusing you, they beat the champs.

I don't think KK will be bookies favourites in any scenario.

Probably essentially both at evens if Wexford win (unless Wexford hammer Tipp)

But Id expect Tipp to be favourites no matter how they win tomorrow

Whatever about the bookies but this whole writing Kilkenny off is gone now, I'd expect most pundits to tip Kilkenny now.

yes but wexford beat kilkenny in both the intensity stakes and in shooting efficiency in the leinster final. which is what worked for kilkenny today , they have a serious recent record against kilkenny , if this wexford teambeat tipp tomorrow , they will be the team that everyone will be talking about

I’d expect there to be nothing in it tomorrow. Really looking forward to that match now

Was at the game tonight, best team won. The start by KK was something else, they would have beaten any team off the park for those first 20 minutes. It was amazing to watch their workrate. Limerick just had some awful wides and too much over playing the ball at times.

Delighted KK won (I'm from the Deise) as the ref was a pure disgrace. He was referring both teams totally differently and isn't up to the standard required.

And we all know how Kilkenny do against teams who have beaten them , galway Leinster 2012 remember, limerick today even. Tipp have done nothing to suggest that a Wexford win would be an upset. Kilkenny will be getting the most plaudits.

I'm always surprised at the hype other counties give tipp, I can tell ye genuine tipp supporters haven't a clue what team will turn up tomorrow.

In fairness Wexford making the final would be a huge story

They were probably about 8th favourites for the all Ireland pre-champ

Were in the doldrums essentially at the turn of the decade

If anything it'll be tough for them to keep a lid on it.

That said I think Tipp will ultimately see off a gallant Wexford effort

That Reid throw in the first half was very frustrating. Fine if you're going to give it but you may aswell blow 20 times during the game then if you're consistent

Yes if we were gone I'd b hoping Wexford would win it out, but tipp were written off this year too BTW like Kilkenny I suppose.

i just think that the physicality that wexford offer is greater then what limerick offered today , i think fitz is a good man to have in your corner especially with his record against cody

i am not fan of fitz personally but impossible to ignore his presence and impact on teams if they won and in a similar fashion to the leinster final they will be fancied

Was there today as a neutral, what a game it was. Limerick hit far too many wides and Kilkenny made the most of every chance they got.

Not writing them off but the poster above saying tipp can't beat Kilkenny is simply factually wrong. 3_2 to.Kilkenny in cody era finals.
7-2 to Kilkenny in Cody era championship meetings though... not that it will have any bearing on the 2019 final should they meet again.

this i agree with , tipperary's last really good performance this year was on the june bank holiday weekend in ennis against clare , played a makeshift limerick team the week after and won , lost against the real limerick team in the munster final and in truth were not as impressive against laois as they were against clare or cork earlier in the championship

huge test tomorrow and tipp as a county is a very nervous place at the moment

If Kilkenny can play with the same intensity as today they'll beat whoever they play in the final. They seemed to snatch every puckout, line out or long ball. When Limerick did get the ball there was nearly always a man there, they were everywhere, that pressure forced all the long shots that went wide, Limerick felt like they had to shoot right away when they got possession and besides the wides they were getting lots of their efforts blocked.

However, playing vs the champs with revenge obviously gave them that intensity. Can they do that again in a final? Things tend to be a lot more cagey in a final, harder to take a game by the scruff of the neck. The way Limerick played in the first half reminded me of when they lost to Cork, they might have been the best team all season but that match showed they could be beat if you get a good start and stay aggressive for the full 70 mins.

Still, though, they almost blew it. That save at the end was just amazing (or lucky). When teams have extraordinary effort and luck and are as tough defensively as KK were (Limerick had what, 2 pts the first 15 mins), that's the kind of teams that win championships.

I'll be backing them in the final, hope they are underdogs but I won't be surprised if they are favs no matter who they play out of Wex/Tipp.

Talking about finals so if you want to change the argument have a look at championship head to heads so over history. Again my reply was to poster who said tipp can't beat Kilkenny.

Jesus calm down I'm not arguing with you at all... just stating a fact. It was yourself that referenced the Cody era. I also think its rubbish to say Tipp cant beat KK btw.
