The right result, after the tip game I thought limerick looked nailed on.

I thought the fluffed sideline ball at the end by KK would let limerick in. Big difference in limerick today.

As a Corkman who hates ye, fair play. Why we can't play with the same intensity just baffles me year after year. Some final to look fwd to.

    Thanks.

Ye just need a bit of steel. Beautiful hurlers, always, but ye need a killer.

Kilkenny seemed to get nothing from the ref and still won, great performance!

Kilkenny ought to have been down to 14 after the elbow on Nash. Better team won but the ref was poor through out.. Fennelly took a tonne of steps for his goal aswell. Penalty for Limerick was a tad soft but Lawlor was rash. Goals win matches and wides lose them.

Better team won over the 70mins. Limerick just hit too many wides..way too many really. It was a testament to them that they stayed in it . Kilkenny were excellent ,great intensity

    Absolutely.

Limerick peaked too early, many people had their names scribed on the Liam McCarthy when the crowd were cheering every pass against Clare in the Gaelic Grounds. Who’s cheering now.

Kk performance should be shown to every other team and shown that this is intensity....this is what it takes to win a hurling match...phenomenal intensity

Ref was poor but it swung in roundabouts lads

Congrats to Kk, definitely the better team today.
Thought the scoreline flattered Limerick a bit.

Cyril just said 'jackie'. He wasn't in the sack but a serious slip none the less.

Scoreline did flatter Limerick but they had their chances..last sideline was a 65

Puke hurling by kilkenny. Like watching a game of rugby with all the rucks.

tink farrell has put to bed the argument that munster teams are affected by the 3 or 4 week lay off since cork in 2005 only 4 times a team from munster have won the all ireland , tipperary twice along with clare in 2013 and limerick last year

maybe munster is nowhere near as strong as people think

I think the main reason for that was the superiority of Kilkenny 06-15, can’t blame that all on a long layoff.

But I thought limerick were so well conditioned and bursting out of their tight jerseys that nobody could beat them......?

fair enough but in truth munster teams had a 50% record in the 90s and only 30% in the 80s 60% in the 70s , 50% strike rate in the 1960s

yet it is always seen as the stronger provence

as an over all argument it is a very fair point by farrell

The long break is no advantage to teams.

Kilkenny have been winning All Ireland's with long breaks over the years.

If tipp win tomorrow, I'll be happy with today's result's, more chance beating that Kilkenny team then Limerick.

I was referring to ordinary teams.

Ultimately it was the limerick wides that decided the game and the 65 at the end that wasn't seen.

If it was rugby you'd imagine Limerick would win it.

    But no.

Great goal by limerick at the end but kilkenny just know how to get over the line.

    Up Wexford.

I’d love to see someone on the RTE panel call the referee out for his performance.

Kudos to Cusack, in a way, though he could have made a broader point than highlighting the '65.

    Define 'superiority' though.

As hurlers ? Not a chance.

The more the years go by, the more performances like today - win or lose - illustrate what Cody has meant over the years by his watchword.

    Spirit.

Limerick went out there today from the word go, and couldn't put the ball over the bar.
    No ifs, no buts.
There's no sympathy in this game for anyone.

    No more about it.

    Lawlor was outstanding on gillane.

As a Tipp man I never thought I'd be so happy for kilkenny and Cody to win.they were phenomenal from the off.delighted for a certain section of limerick supporters who were fair obnoxious after the Munster final a few weeks ago.Cody is the greatest manager in gaa history and tonight's win must surely rank no.1.

As a Kilkenny man, I hope Wexford win tomorrow and I wouldn't mind at all if they went on to beat us in the All Ireland. They've kept the faith long enough.
