Yes, Men who are proud to be irishmen, Great mentality from Tiger aswell, he never throws in the towel fluffing two foot putts, a real credit to the game
What have Harrington, McDowell and Clarke done for this country,to make them proud to be Irishmen, that Ireland's greatest ever golfer hasn't done?

In any interview they have ever given they have been proud to be irishmen, they don't change opinions like the wind, disrespect the game constantly and are respected golfers and human beings.
Just my opinion, and every golfer friend i have which is many.
For the record i played in Stackstown as a member with padraig and his family many moons ago.

lol so nothing to do with the open then, and a story from a scorned tournament director that didn't get him to compete.

Journeyman who led the Open into the 4th round as a 22 year old amateur...perhaps you are just stirring though?

My comment was more in relation to someone suggesting that he should be given a place in the competition. He has done nothing to justify the place. That is a factual fact not stirring!

Of course not the open. No player receives appearance money.

It is well known European events have paid plenty of money to attract big names.

Can you link us to any interviews where they talk about being proud to be Irish?

Also they are from a different generation to Ireland's greatest ever golfer. He is only 30 now, it's a different time. People don't go on like that so much.
Didn't Lowry and McDowell pull out of the Olympics last time around?

i wouldn't say he's from a different generation to lowry and maybe not even mcdowell, look it's my opinion, you don't agree fair enough

McDowell has also said his 'national identity' is not straightforward, wishing the decision on which country to represent in the Olympics could be taken out of his hands.

Anyone else mistake Lowry for JB Holmes and vice versa?

Will be brilliant for the weekend to have lowry up there

Lowry pulled out and so did McDowell afaik.
The difference is that they were up front about it from the start and didn’t resort to telling lies.

You never mentioned Lowry. Lowry pulled out of the Olympics last time too. What have you to say about that?

no one gets open appearance money

i was just showing you a different opinion to your comment that
it's hardly about money for him
when the vast majority of his career was very much about the money

I didn’t think they were allowed appearance money but could have a clinic scheduled that week and happens to be a tournament on just after their clinic and may as well plan it while there.

Well ask yourself this, did they ask him to play or did he ask them to play?

They were the customer, not him. The customer walked away without the product they wanted.

that's simply not true, after his first couple of wins and nike deals he was a multi millionaire, he never lost his hunger or desire to improve.
All these golfers have financial accountants and managers that go for all financial stuff, and they would be right to look for his market value.
I just don't get your point sorry.
