    Anyone watched Point Blank?

Watched it this evening. It was grand. Tone was a bit all over the place and it felt a bit cobbled together like they were making it up as they went along but Grillo is very watchable.

Surprisingly entertaining, saw this in the cinema and was a bit bonkers. Completely schizophrenic tone between serious and farce, but I was never bored.

Yeah, it's rare you watch a mainstream Hollywood movie that feels like it's flying by the seat of its pants. I suspected had Paul Feig & its cast not gelled quite so well, and been up for having some fun, the film would have just been an unholy mess.

Like, it was a mess, but carried with such unapologetic sincerity, it just about worked. The ending was still stupid mind you.

Watched Jessica Jones Season 3 over the w.e. (and last week). Have to say, I really enjoyed it, surprisingly.
Of the netflix marvel content, I've watched all of DareDevil, and season 1 of Jessica Jones, but thats all. I feel the 13 episode long seasons unbelievably drag out the season.

But this season was a really enjoyable low key characters study. All the various plot points intertwined in a way that felt logical and well wrote. It was interesting to see superpowered people flummoxed by a resentful non powered person. Also, it managed to pull off what Game of Thrones spectacularly failed in doing. JJ and GoT spoilers
Seeing a secondary character, Trish, recently powered, go completely off the rails shocked me. But as per her character arc, it felt earned and a natural progression.
I'm not sure I'd recommend it though, since 13 episodes can be long, but if you liked the first season then definitely give it a watch. And skip the apparently messy second season.

Saw it last night and thought it was terrible. The plot waels all over the place. Think Grillo was the saving grace in it.
The ending lacked any real punch after what was watched.

Whoever picked the music needs to be get rid of, choices were horrendus with what they were trying to go for

Is it just me, or is Derry Girls ridiculously overrated? Watched the first 2 episodes over the weekend, and thought it was very poor. Does it improve?

Some people have different tastes and sense of humour. Nothing more to it than that.

Thought it was a way better season than the second and really enjoyed it this time round.

Honest question... how can you confirm its overrated if you haven't watched it?

Personally I think its one of the best tv shows to come out of Ireland in the last 10 years. I have watched both seasons.

I watched 3 episodes, was enough for me to see it wasn't for me. The question I answered was' does it get any better'
I much preferred Moone boy as a retro Ireland throwback.

Its really good fun IMO, some great lines and has real heart...the gurning of the main girl can get on my wick, but thats about my only real criticism (bar the general overhyping of the show).
I think season 1 was stronger than 2, but it had some really fun episodes too.

Each to their own I guess, I enjoyed moone boy but I felt it ran out of steam very quickly and it didn't have half as many laughs as Derry Girls for me.
Maybe Derry Girls hooked me in a bit more as it was set in the north.

As filler Derry Girls isnt too bad.
Had a good few laughs, especially from Sister Michael

Pretty non plussed with stranger things now, some shows could be classics if left to.one season

I watched season 2, but dropped out at season 3.
    Its basically the same story each season;

Unseen monster is in town, plucky group of kids fight it, parents\adults don't believe them. Shadowey organisation is somehow involved.

    That's where I'm leaving it.

Thought S2 was pretty awful myself and won't bother with S3.

It's perfect as a self contained show in S1. There was simply no need to expand it and in doing so, they've just watered the whole thing down.

This is why I have high hopes for the next season of 'The Haunting of..."

Hill House was a perfect, satand alone season. Apparently the next season will be the same cast with a new story, new characters etc...

Exactly how it should be done.

Saying that, I hated Season 2 of Stranger Things and am having a really good time with Season 3. So it can work both ways. I'd rather Stranger things adopted more of an anthology approach tho.

I loved season 3 , great fun , as a child of the 80's it was made for me

I still enjoyed season 2 but it was a step down for sure,. Season 3 is easily as good as season 1 for me though, thought it was brilliant.

Only halfway through Season 3 and finding it a much improved beast to the dawdling, baggy second season.

    Robin, Erica and the
    Neverending Story
scene alone justify the existence of Stranger Things 3.
