Damn, Den of Geek, which I usually read for sci-fi gave it a 1/5. Was really looking forward to this as well. Will probably still watch it.
Similar to above, Night Flyer's, which got bad reviews, and it was just ok.

Burned through season 2&3 of this a couple of weeks ago after watching season 1 on Netflix. Really enjoyed it. Its a shame Netflix rights seem to be a bit delayed for this.
Similar to above, is the Australian mom's group comic drama "The Big Letdown". Enjoyed this too.

Watched a generic looking horror called "Look Away" that appeared on my Netflix recently, it was the decent cast that won me over. Actually a really enjoyable flick with good performances, quite different than what I expected and not as straight forward or predictable as I imagined.

Can't believe India Eisley is 25. There's a fair bit of nudity involved, which is a little uncomfortable given she could easily pass for 15 in the movie (unlike some of her high-school counterparts).

    Good film though.

Fair question, I asked a work colleague and he confirmed plot wise and character wise season 3 was very similar to season 1&2. And from the promotional material and trailers, it looks like the same cast and location.

    It’s nothing like season 1. I don’t remember much of season 2.

Got a bit lost in the release schedule when it was out in the cinema and seems to have slipped under the radar on Netflix too, but Wildlife is an impressive directorial debut from Paul Dano (yep that one). A deceptively familiar tale of the American Dream / nuclear marriage gone wrong, but far more interesting than the likes of American Beauty. Really precise and distinctive sense of style, and has this memorable undercurrent of unease and everything not being quite right. And super performances too: Jake Gyllenhaal showing how good he can be when the material allows, but even more so a powerhouse effort from Carey Mulligan.

Watched the first 20 mins of Another Life last night. Then gave up.

Story is basic, little character development and when they get to space the other characters get really annoying really quickly.

If someone makes it further and it gets better, let me know :)

Saw this in the cinema and agree with all the above. Really good, unusual film and the three leads - especially Carey Mulligan - are terrific.

    You know that old phrase..

.. you wait ages for a show and then Veronica Mars, The Boys and OITNB show up all at once! :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,439 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Veronica was released a week early, which I was really happy about as got it watched last weekend and am free for The Boys this weekend.

Was wondering what Netflix would counter them with, but nothing of interest so all good. Now if they brought Dark Crystal forward a month, would be another story

Thanks; this would appear to be a no, unfortunately. Was looking forward to some good sci-fi too

I started watching it, was dissapointed with the UFO graphics, thats the first let down probably 60 seconds into the show.
I got about 30 mins in before I was booted off the TV by my subservient wife
Can't tell ya if it gets better... not really so far. Starbucks acting is wo-oden

I'm not seeing Veronica Mars on mine. Haven't seen that since it first came out. That first season was a classic.
