Fred's love of the like button hasn't gone unnoticed by some Liverpool fan of the forum's on the FEEDBACK THREAD a United fan brought up the fact he wanted the like button removed because its used as a way of people liking posts having a go at other teams and clubs and guess who was the first to like it ,

It was the ultimate irony,

Now I will say the United fan had a point as there is a certain other Poster who Likes everything anti United ,

The question was why do they see Maguire as there man NOW when he is the same player as he was last summer who then wasn't deemed good enough ,

The price for him now is slightly higher than last year because of the market so that even's it's self out ,

It comes down to why now is he seen as the CB United need but last year he wasn't

Of course it has something to do with the valuation of other players (such as VVD). It's not the only factor, but it is one of many factors.

It doesn't come down to Maguire being thought of as "there man NOW" (sic); this is your interpretation of things, which is speculative given you know nothing of the situation. It's not as binary as Bad then, Good now. There are a huge number of nuanced arguments that can be presented as to why the decision making process may have changed, but sure look, I'm shouting into a hole because you've left for good, haven't you?!

Really wouldn't worry about that. Wanted out last year, didn't get his move, and had an easy escape this year - and still played his heart out all season. Never get the impression of a lazy player from him.

He's not exactly 'older' either - only just turned 30, which is pretty much peak for a CB. Even with a 4 year deal, he'll have only been 33 for 90% of his final year. And at those ages, he'll still be wanting/expecting to keep his spot for Belgium for the next Euros and World Cup.

A philosophy of youth often makes sense, as experience is costly - but he's going at an absolute bargain for his level of quality. And as for hunger - who's going to be hungrier than a lad in his peak years, who has been brilliant for a while, and has absolutely fuck all to show for it for his time at Spurs. This has to be his "win some shit" time.

Honestly, think he's the biggest no-brainer of the summer for any side looking for an upgrade in quality at the back. Utd and Arsenal should both be straight in matching his buyout. As should City to be honest, with Kompany heading off, and Stones out of favour. The only reason I see not to buy him, is if everyone matches his fee, and then it becomes an auction for wages.
