Do you use cash much?

I find myself using cash less and less. Contactless would be my most used method of payment. The guy where I usually get breakfast asked me if I carry cash last week and the answer is rarely.

I used to have about twenty in cash in my wallet but in the last year I dont bother so much.

Over 90% of my transactions now would be non cash and prob around 80% contactless

Much the same for me and occasionally get caught where cash is required! Would like to be 100% cashless.

Same. Rarely have cash now. Everything is by card and helps offset the bank charges (PTSB cash back thing).

Went to the recycling centre yesterday and had to stop off on the way specifically to get coins so I could get through the barrier.

Much much less than I used to. Pretty much the only time I’d go to an ATM now is on a (increasingly rare) night out, where I know I’ll probably need a few quid for a taxi etc.

Keep 200 in mixed notes in the wallet, only for when can't use card, keep about 8 euro in ones and twos in the coin pouch too.

I used to do that, but it's very easy to just piss away a 50 once you've broken it. Plus if you lose your wallet or its stolen your money is gone.

At least with cards it's still in the account even if you have to get a new card.

I'd be the same but I keep the change in my pocket, can't stand the weight in the wallet.
Tap my phone mostly though.

Cash for me, unless I absolutely have to use card. Bigger frauds occur with virtual money. (Been there, seen it, even if obviously there's a better chance of getting your money back with e-fraud.)

And any list of frugality tips will recommend cutting up your credit card and using cash, because you're more accountable to yourself when handing over physical money than when tapping a card.

Was out for drinks the other night, tap and pay all night, checked the account the next morning on the phone... “JAYSIS!!”. I know a night out is generally expensive, but tap and pay I sometimes forget that it’s not bitcoin! :pac:

Hardly any cash in the last 2 years. €40 in the wallet as one local shop hasn't a card machine.

I use cash whenever possible contact less for stuff that would create a lot of coins or if buying big items like presents etc on the web. Easiest way to keep track of my spending

Very rarely.

Only time I really miss it is when I need coins for a shopping trolley or for parking.

I would never use a card out out drinking too easy to spend way too much plus I feel it be way too easy to get stolen

I had an injury last year which made it very hard to use cash for a few weeks, so I went contactless. Back to cash when I was able, and I always carry a good amount. But cash is on the way out, as are cheques. In Stockholm someone found it impossible to spend £100 in cash in 24 hours.

less cash than before for me, but I still use cash for payments that I don't want in the system, and I am not keen to enroll to all direct debits I get offered the option for.

For transactions less than 30 quid tap...over 30 Visa.

I try and limit use of cash and by using the card you can track your spending and realise how much money you waste.

Cash almost 100% in shops, pubs etc, obviously card for everything online.

If I've €100 cash in my wallet then I can only spend €100 cards make it too easy to spend money you haven't got.

Went to ginzeng in the ilac shopping centre yesterday. Went to tap my phone..I almost died when the woman said cash only. I then remembered I had €20 in my wallet..the food was €19.50.

Felt like I was in the 3rd world having no choice but to use cash.

I didn't spend cash in about a year with the ptsb cash back thing. But recent switched back to withdrawing cash as am getting mortgage ready and they really know every move you make with contactless. Plus I don't know where my data ends up these days. I had forgotten how much I love the feel of cash!

Don't carry much cash these days. Take out €40 probably every 2 weeks or so. Use contactless most of the time so only touch the cash now and again.

The only cash I have in my wallet is a fiver, and I genuinely have no idea how long it's been there or where I got it from. Last time I even touched cash was the first week in February, and that was in Vietnam.

Just by reaching into your pocket you can tell immediately how much cash you have left :P
