They're coming to Belfast but the date and venue have yet to be announced.

I thought that picking Belfast and not Dublin meant that they were planning an in the round show that would not work in 3arena.

Shame it's outdoors it will still be bright by the time it finishes. But that stage they have on the stadium tour is nuts.

I'm not sure about Dublin though, if they are using their own stage theyll find it hard to find a venue to let them do that ( that isn't croke park, Aviva or slane) most promoters just keep the same rent a stage for a series of gigs.

Can Rammstein for all their success could pull off two big outdoor shows on this island either.

They had a 'gif' on their page a couple of days ago that flashed up all the cities on the tour. Dublin wasn't one of them.

They've also said that UK dates are to be announced, but Belfast is announced. Don't think Dublin will happen, but stranger things have happened.

Or else rammstein know more about a post-brexit political landscape that Belfast isn't part of the UK

This is not the case at any of the 3 venues mentioned (Aviva, Croke Park and Slane). AC/DC, Springsteen, The Stones, Metallica etc all brought their own stage sets.

Those smaller "pop up" stages tend to be used when there is multiple shows at the same venue i.e. Malahide Castle, Kilmainham etc.

Logically you would imagine so, but it seems it's a very different stage. And the festival would limit the amount of pyro they could use I'd say, considering proximity to the airport. So for those reasons, I'm saying no to download for them

Hard to say Muse with Biffy Clyro didn't sell out a few years back AFAIK and not sure if Foos still have tickets left for this Aug although they are doing a Dublin date too which is sold out.

Yeah but this looks like a much larger scale tour than the regular festival stage. Plus I'd say UK dates are being held back for their one next week. Download likely won't announce for much longer either. Hell even Metallica were around at the time but they didn't do it!

It's in their Facebook post announcing the tour. Hard to know what way they'll do it. If they do Olympic stadium, I can't see them doing another show on that landmass. I can almost see two smaller stadiums, but could be way off

Did they sell out the show last time they played Dublin? Was abroad when they played so missed them. Definitely hitting Belfast for this. They're my main bucket list band and the stage production they have now looks insane!

Seeing them in Milton Keynes next week and was initially in for Belfast but think a few of us are gonna try for the Berlin gig instead on 4th July 2020, on a Saturday so gonna make a weekend of it.

Have to say I find it very strange how they're opening with Was Ich Liebe. Usually the opener is the first (anthem) track on the album bar a few tours i.e. for the Mutter tour it was 5/4 as the intro and Mein Herz Brennt. The LIFAD tour opened with Rammlied. I was sure they would be opening with Deutschland for this tour.

Boucher Road Playing Fields usually have a pit but from past experience (Foo Fighters and Muse/Biffy) it was a first come first served thing rather than a pay more thing. In saying that, this year was the first time (that I'm aware of) that you had to pay extra for Slane to get into the pit so maybe it's the way things are going.

The extra charge is only to be able to access the pit to get closer to the stage.

I tend to avoid Belfast concerts for an unusual reason even though I live an hour from it, being in Belfast tends to worsen my depression seeing what happened to Ulster since the plantation and how my ancestors lost the war, yes I know I'm a deep thinker, it feels so English, I was at the airport last week and it really is a bit of a mind twister, going from a Gaelic settlement in mid Ulster to Engand in less than an hours drive.

I suppose Dublin is different as it was out of our Gaelic control in medieval times anyway.

Regarding ticket prices, that's an expensive evening out, It is costing me £140 to go to Lacuna Coil in Dublin and that's including a hotel room.

I'm pissed we have to go to Belfast to see them after packing so many into the Point a few years ago - I'd be really pissed if they added a Dublin event after getting Belfast tickets.

Peter Aiken was on today fm earlier and he was asked would they be playing in Dublin next year and he said no, Belfast only.

What nordie politics are you expecting to hear from a band that sing in German? I’m fairly sure you’ll be fine. A Dublin date is fairly unlikely I think Boucher road fits over 30,000 so I’d image they’d rather just have one well sold date on the island then barley scaping even with two just to appease Dublin folk who despise the idea of heading an hour and half up the road the odd time.

Its not just the Dublin folk who would love to see them in Dublin. I'd love to see them, but I'm down on the Cork/Limerick border, and Belfast is a long bloody journey from here. 5hrs or so. Its not really do-able to drive that distance there and back on the same day, so my friends and I would need to factor in the cost of a hotel as well, on top of the ticket cost. Dublin is a lot more central for everyone on the island of Ireland, and we could drive there and back that night easily

I'm from Tipp, its 3 hours to Dublin from where I am an extra 1 and a half never killed me to take a show in in Belfast and it's a year away ffs!! :pac:

All there is whingers on this tiny Island a band comes back for the first time in 8 years the last being the only time ever yet they'll talk themselves out of going because it isn't on their doorstep, that would be ideal an all but come on.

politics is only there if you go up specifically to find it and make a huge effort....otherwise it will just be a well organised gig

:pac: this is some load of hyperbole bull even for boards.ie. I go to gigs regularly in Belfast cos I've a mate from there so we go together and I've a place to stay if needed. Not once have I had any trouble, personally or with my car (lol at that btw) and I'd recommend anyone to go up for a gig cos the crowds are usually better craic than the Dublin selfie brigade just looking for insta likes.

Boucher road is a great venue, easy in, easy out and nicely laid out inside.

Unless you go driving down the Shankill blasting out the Wolfe Tones, you will get absolutely no trouble whatsoever and nobody will even.notice your southern reg.
