Anyone heard their latest new recruit doing sports news during the day - Anne Marie Donnellan, previously an AA road watch announcer! She has quite the whiny voice, going to be annoying to listen to

Did they talk about Ireland getting to the final of the World Cup of Brexit down the pub this morning?

Listened to Kieran Donaghy interview Conor Hourihane back the other day and have to say it was a bit hard to listen to. Way too much of Donaghy's voice, way too chummy and rambling, unfocused questions. Was screaming out for a decent interviewer as Hourihane has a good story to tell.

Read Kieran Donaghy's book, if its in a book swap box that is, and swap it with some jacks roll by some lad whose wiped his hole after 18 pints of guinness and an aberekebabra doner kebab meal as they are essentially the same thing. <Snip - Mod>

Haven't been impressed with his contributions since he started. I find him very hard to listen to.

To be fair I actually think he had the stones to write it himself instead of the vast majority which are ghostwritten by journalists, which is even more impressive when you consider he had real learning difficulties in school.

Gonna try podcasting OTB am. The time it's live at never suits me.

Anyone know what time the podcast is up on normal podcast software?

Varies daily. Could be anything from 10:30 to 12:30 normally

Kieran Shannon was the ghost-writer on Kieran Donaghy's book, as far as I know.

Daithi Regan is a pure coward taking pot shots at Brian Caroll and Joachim Kelly after they stepped into the management team in Offaly when nobody else would

Dont like how he was just indulged on Off the Ball depite his outrageous comments the day before their must win game

Very disappointed he wasn't even questioned on it

I think he said he wrote it himself first and then Shannon came in and tidied it up. But it wasn't the normal ghost-writing process of lengthy interviews - Donaghy definitely put the whole thing down on paper first.

    Fair enough, didn't know that!

Haven't listened in a while but I think I tuned in at the wrong time again. More lecturing about how I should be watching the women's world cup.

You know I would actually pay for one bit of honesty from them, just one morsel of a genuine emotion, if one of them could walk into studio tomorrow and say "Jesus, after watching the premiership run-in with Liverpool and City this year, this women's world cup thing is a load of c0ck, if you excuse the pun".

    That's not a pun.

    That's not a pun.
You could've responded to his post but instead picked out a throwaway line at the end of it, Jesus wept.

The premier league run in this year was exceptional in terms of tit-for-tat.
There's been plenty damp squibs as well.

Thanks for your advice. Jesus did a lot of weeping around here.

Tuned in there in the car, some one saying they won't stop complaining until Ladies Football and Camogie is at the same level as the men's game.

I tuned out fairly quickly and she'll be complaining for a very very long time.

You showed them. Damn those ambitious women!

    There's ambition and there's delusion.

You're right, why should they even bother.

I was listening and they were talking about expenses and mileage.

The ladies team doesn't get any, the mens do. That's the level they want the same.

Maybe they can when they start pulling in as much money as the men's games.

People probably said the same about women's tennis.....

    Well, this is the thing.

Imagine the revenue from the men's games could be doubled, and it would actually be good for society?

Women's sports are rightly being developed and covered more these days. It's one of the very few things in the public sphere that makes sense for everybody.

No it doesn't. Fairly sweeping statement there.

It's not as entertaining to watch and they're not as good at it so it will always be inferior.

    No it doesn't what?

If you're not into it, just carry on with your life as you were.

    What's the problem?
