Protester invades private function, gets owned by guest, gender is irrelevant.

Great point. He should have identified as a woman for 30 seconds. Problem solved.

We need more people like him to be honest....

To many getting away with everything because the others are afraid to do what's right....

He didn't hurt her and didn't grab her by the throat.... He did however hold the back of her neck to guide her out....

If he punched her for example then that would be an issue but I see absolutely no issues with stopping her...

    Honestly.....what......we......clearly.......need......is......more.......dots......in......our.....lives......lovely......round......tiny......dots......

    It depends really on context.

No there was a group all with the greenpeace sash. She wore it too. They did know in fairness. The police would not have let her in otherwise.

I think you have to apply to be able to protest there.

If he knew she was Greenpeace he was definitely in the wrong.
Nobody could have risen to his position in government without being aware that the Greenpeace credo for almost 50 years is non-violent direct action.

Threats everywhere! Who knows if the guy sitting next to you on the bus might punch you?
    .

I wouldn't expect it from a guy on a bus as he's expected to be there.

If that unknown guy gets into my privately owned car, which I assume was securely locked where I'm not expecting him, I'm going to be concerned about what he's doing and I may react.

play stupid games, win stupid prizes
Pretty much this. If she didn't want to be stopped, she shouldn't have worn a bright red dress with a climate change sash.

Once again both sides are going completely over the top:

"Oh you guys must be so scared of women"

"She could have had a gun"

What happened was a silly bint was somewhere she was not supposed to be and was going to make a scene.

There were high profile people there and the woman was making her way there.

An MP saw this, took her by the scruff of her neck and walked her out.

Jobs a good un. No harm done.

She was an idiot, he was a little bit too aggressive, go about your day.

****ing lunacy of him having to apologise. What a funny world this has become

Good call on the ‘silly bint’, hopefully that’ll learn her to expect a response if she provokes someone.

    Well done to that MP.
That protester could have been carrying a bomb or some type of weapon with lethal intentions on mind. She might for example have intended to throw acid over the man.
Why should she have been treated any differently than a man would. If in fact it had been a man, would possibly been wrestled to the floor and arrested.
I congratulate the MP on his swift intervention.
Finally, women whinge about inequality, well this one gained a degree of equality for sure. Perhaps she'll think again before she acts in such an idiotic manner next time she feels entitled.

It's not like she was wearing a sash saying "climate protest" or was a with other people who were dressed the same, or were talking loudly to interrupt the meeting before she approached the tables.

I actually think that what she was going to do was to kidnap Philip Hammond and put him in to the bag she was carrying and then leave while everyone feared for their lives.

Going by some of the comments I thought he had beheaded her with a butchers saw, he could have handled it better but he hardly left her a bloody pulp on the floor, he handled it well I thought, he was effective in controlling any potential threat she may have posed, gender is irrelevant

protester holds protest. guest oversteps the mark, gets suspended from his job.
the "invasion" of a private function didn't justify his actions as is correct. what he did outweighs what she did by millions of miles.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

she didn't provoke anyone. she held a protest.
the actual security seemed to be able to escort the protesters out without misbehaving.

    this is hysterical whatiffery nonsense.
if she was carrying anything lethal she had plenty of opportunities to use it. she didn't, because she wasn't.
what the police would or wouldn't have done isn't relevant, they have training to deal with people, as did the actual security there, who were able to bring the protesters out without incident unlike this have ago hero who is now apparently suspended from his job and under investigation.
so i'm afraid you haven't put forward anything to justify his behaviour.

    Outweighs?

Miles are a measurement unit for a distance.

I won’t bother correcting all the other errors in what you’ve written in this post. Everyone with any common sense knows it’s all a load of horse dung anyway.

For those saying she was protesting and thus couldn't be touched.

Are there any circumstances one can't protest?
