You can save the regen mode for normal sport and eco in the radio menu screen. Press the EV button and then follow your nose. Those with older firmware reported it forgetting settings but those with 09-2017 or later firmware versions have no issues. Dealer should update to latest for free.

Ah thats it so, I was just upping it using the paddles....

Anyone get the back bumper wrapped?
I got my grill on my black ioniq wrapped but going back to get the grey part around the fog lights wrapped next Saturday.
Thinking of getting the back bumper wrapped whilst I'm there.

Thinking of it myself. I'll go about getting quotes this month (tinting windows too). The hybrid ioniq has a black gloss rear bumper. Looks well imo

Yea I've booked it in. Said I'd go for the fog lights area and back bumper.
Just want rid of all the grey plastic now after getting the grill wrapped

Should have just done the whole lot when it was getting the grill done.
Quoted €120 for fog light area and back bumper. Happy with that as he's very good.
    Unkel recommended him.

Are your windows not tinted already?
My passenger windows are tinted from new

Nope. All very clear and see through. I won't go crazy tinting really dark, but a decent yet subtle enough tint is nice.

I'm thinking back and front bumper. No fog light area. My ioniq is white

He's a pro. When I arrived there first, he just delivered a 10 year old Audi TT with a full wrap to its owner. Car looked like a brand new car. Mine was done nearly two years ago and still is perfect (he uses high quality 3M wrapping sheets)

On this note. Anyone know a reputable wrapper in the Cork area?

Get that stinky diesel car you long sold out of your sig or face a ban, Black_Night :p

Shamefully, i've not taken a decent pic of the Ioniq to replace it. Soon... hopefully

That's another of the upgrades with the 191 Ioniq, along with the heated steering wheel - rear privacy glass.
Looks well on the black especially & I think it makes the car go faster too :D.

Well wear to all Ioniq owners.

Just disable your sig for the mo

I don't come into this forum to look at pictures of cancerous diesels!

Tried hypermiling my Ioniq BEV yesterday, like an eejit. I must fancy myself as a poor man’s Bjørn Nyland!

The car is a 181 with 40k km on the clock.

Left Kilkenny with 100% SOC, 181 km on the GOM, 21 deg. ambient temperature, ECO mode on. Drove on slow roads (via Bennettsbridge, Tommy-town and the old N9 to Waterford, then out to Tramore and back until my subscribed podcasts ran out, and before the will to live did.

The road between Waterford and Tramore is ideal because it’s smooth, has only mild elevation changes, and plenty of traffic keeping the average speed down below 70 km/h (the speed limit is 80 between the roundabouts).

    Finished up as follows:
    2hrs 44 mins
    158.4 km travelled
    Average speed 62 km/h
    16 deg.
    44% SOC
    Consumption: 10.3 kWk/100km

So my car could stretch to 280 km or thereabouts, in ideal conditions, driving “with a hat on”! That would get me up to almost the North on one charge.

Back to driving at normal “progress” speeds from now on though! :D

Seriously lads, what the fuck are you doing with your Ioniqs?

When I fully charge these days I see 235ish on the GOM, and I'm getting all of it. I've never seen it less than 190, even in the worst of the cold wet days of winter.

I do the speed limit on the longer, motorway runs and drive normally on the country roads. I never use eco mode.

I'm pretty sure my 181 only has the 28kWh battery under it. So, WTAF?

Dunno... here’s all I can think of that might make a difference:
    - I keep a spare wheel on board (overkill? sensible?)
    - 35 km of my 52 km commute is motorway, and I do that twice a day, little enough other driving (the GOM creeps up on the weekends when I do more local runs)
    - I use normal mode, not Sport or Eco, with adaptive cruise control at 120 on the display.
    - Tyres 36 psi
    - GOM gets down to 168 or so in winter, 190-195 in summer

The spare wheel thing is something I think is sensible. I don't carry one but my wife keeps a survival kit in the car that includes such things as hairdryer and curling tongs. This easily weighs the same as a spare wheel. :)

On long runs, I use adaptive cruise sparingly as it's very inefficient, but I will use it if I have loads of kms spare in the battery.

The only thing I can think of is that there might be a problem with binding brakes or something. The difference in range is just too great.

    Is adaptive cruise that inefficient?

I did a weekend away from cork to Killarney and back, with some tipping around in between. Was at 12kw/100km, or less, driving in default mode. My daily commute is up a decent hill, in sport mode, from cold, and it's regularly 20kw/100km. Guessing that eats my range mostly.

But certainly not getting much more than 210km

Any kind of cruise control in inefficient, as it involves regen which on motorway causes losses of energy.

Yep, I find it doesn't coast at all. Without cruise, I can travel a slight downslope for a couple of kilometres freewheeling, which can take me partway up the next hill. The cruise will regen for most of the downhill and pile on the power when it hits the hill. The cruise will keep it at a set speed, as it's supposed to, but I'll let the speed drift up and burn off the extra speed freewheeling on a level road or up a slight hill.

I've just checked my GOM, it's at 206. I drove about 35kms after leaving a destination charger in town yesterday.

Because the weather is getting better my GOM continues to improve. The morning it was up to 174km.
Am I concerned, no...and I unhappy no, am I worried, no.
I'm just starting to mind feck Silent Running, who seems genuinely concerned about the inefficiency of others :-)

    In a few weeks I'll be driving a Niro, so I won't give a toss. :p

But seriously though, isn't it odd that some Ioniqs are showing more range than others?

My GOM is usually around 205 after a full charge these days, though my actual range seems to be closer to 220.

Was back down to more like 190 during the week with the crap weather.

Doesn’t the GOM work on an average based on previous driving. Mine is at about 236 now after a full charge at night, dropped down to 210 in the winter. I’ve driven 102000km since I got it.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

Same, this morning it was 237. I like driving with the window fully open when the weather is nice, but the girls were all on board and they gave out their hair would be ruined. So closed window and switched on A/C to 18C cooling. That instantly took 15km off the range :D

Was only a short trip, did several local trips today, totalling about 20km and car is at 220km range left now. All last summer (over about 4-5 months) I averaged 240km. Wife and myself only ever drive in sports mode. She drives fairly fast, I drive even faster. We do lots of M50 driving, but not much sustained 120km/h GPS driving, once done long trip to Cork for holidays, few times to Cashel and such, but such long trips at speed are rare.

I'm still in early days, but I just can't fathom driving anywhere and having 220km remaining. I too drive in sport mode, and I enjoy the electric acceleration so I'm not shy of it, but 240km... A man can dream :D
I'll be getting my home charger installed this week finally, so I'll get a few full range readings from now on.

Good point on the cruise control. I've the distance set to the minimum but I still find I need to pull out far too early to overtake when on the motorway.

Good choice, I would be lying if I said I was not jealous.

I don't think it's odd at all to be honest. For me, range is low due to very high quiet motorway usage.
If I go on a prolonged slower drive my efficiency immediately picks up to where it "should" be

Silly question, anyone know what those yellow dots on the sat nav maps are meant to be?
Everyone that sits into the car asks and I haven't a clue.

Something to do with tracking. I think it's where you've been before. If you root around in the settings and disable tracking, or something like that, they disappear.

Does anyone know what the first Ioniq service entails? Do I have to specifically mention the firmware upgrade or is that done as standard. 10k on the clock after a year so was gonna book it in.
