Just browsing in a bookshop earlier and this title caught my eye.

I can only imagine the furore and Twitter mobs if this was "How to be successful without hurting women's feelings".

Why is this kind of thing not called out for the bull**** it clearly is.

Because making an issue of it means you must be a woman hating misogynist. Are you?

Were your feelings hurt when you saw the title of the book?

The premise of this book is that men are idiots. But, we get used to that narrative and don't fight every battle. We die young enough as it is.

Did you actually read anything regarding the book or did you just get outraged at the title?

It’s comedy. Relax and have a glass of wine. Maybe a bath.

Publishers will publish things they think will make money. I guess they figured there was a market for that topic. I’m not sure what we should be calling out really? Shïtty books get published all the time.

Its just publishing companies taking money off of women....years ago it was "how to bag a husband" or some such. They should do one on "Patriarchy chicken"...its a thing apparently...they'd make a fortune. https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/feminism/2019/02/how-play-patriarchy-chicken-why-i-refuse-move-out-way-men

They take cheap money off men too, in the form of sports autobiographies.

Maybe someday we'll learn to celebrate difference.

Reverse sexism is all the range now. We just have to live with it and ride it out, at least there's no big immediate danger to us.

The book seems to be a satire or am I missing something?

Sounds like a book that you'd find stacks of in one of those discount bookshops that sell books for a fiver each, or three for ten euro. Satire, presumably, designed to hurt the feelings of the type of men whose feelings get easily hurt by trivial stuff like that.

I've just ordered it online so I'll let you know after the missus has read it and told me what to say.

Set up a crowd fund to purchase every copy in circulation, globally.

Rent an outdoor swimming pool and throw every copy in there, add petrol and ignite. Maybe keep a copy to read or as a souvenir.

    Keep me updated please.

The hilarious, unintentional irony of an immediate pearl clutch at 'muh sexism'?

The question of why this stuff isn’t called out? People have addressed it in various ways. What do you think yourself? Why wait for others to answer?

    It’s pretty simple really.

    White heterosexual male bad.

    Everyone else good.

Some are more good than others.

Do you think the below is insensitive to victims of maritime collisions?

Still waiting for an answer to the question posed in the OP...

Do men have feelings? (of course they do). I've often wondered why some men rather moan about women having their annual day but this chunk of men do not promote the yearly men's mental health day(sometime in Nov) which helps men!

Vulnerable men need to open up about their feelings as it's men who have that tragic high suicide rate, it's ok to talk about your difficulties in life and other men who see a man showing their feelings as a weakness are the danger.

Apologies folks, I was being sarcastic with my comment, but I appreciate its pretty much impossible to tell sarcasm from genuine comments these days.

This reminds me of the advertisements I'm hearing on the radio lately with the ladies with the soft tones with a hint of southside Dublin wrapped up in an image of pure class...

She sends the guy out for say Polish and he comes home with two flight tickets to Poland for a long weekend....

Then you hear his side of the story and he sounds like a real twat with a knuckle dragging voice....

Then they'll have a narrative of someone advertising hearing aids.

Not only are they undermining the poor guy but they're making deaf people sound like complete and utter twit's....

Such vvankers whomever are coming up with these scripts.

Shows the marketing creativity in this country, undermining men and deaf people all at once and women for not realising their partners are deaf and maybe the women should be more clear with the neanderthal....

So that's an own goal in itself....

    You couldn't make it up

Prefix with privileged and you're there.

Men just need to feel respected in society and that they have a purpose in life. Its not natural for a man to be emotional like a woman. Men are not women, they are both very different. Society is making women compete with men, instead of them both complementing their differences

To be fair, if you're upset by that title alone, then I'd say you're fairly easily upset. So, unfortunately, you're kinda validating the premise of the book

Women aren't half as scary as you seem to think. They're almost, like, normal people.
