2nd puncture in 2 days!! Changed the tube and was about to refit the wheel when I heard air escaping. 2nd tube in and on my way. It was actually a decent distraction from the awful headwind

Blowy enough out there. Was coming down the Black Glen road over the motorway bridge and saw the cyclist ahead of me suddenly shift left by a couple of feet as they caught a heavy gust. Been doing very little cycling this year so hoping to get 500k in over June to get back into the swing of things. Out for seven of the last eight days, albeit short enough spins of 20k-32k so planning to keep it up and throw in a few longer ones.

W200 training on Saturday morning, short hill spin today. Doing 'aight. But clubmates did the Eoin McLove 600 yesterday so did I really even cycle at all? :D

Yes you did cycle, it's all relative. I also rode the Eoin McLove over the weekend. I can recommend Cavan hay barns for a couple of hours nap. The block headwind from Ballybay to Bailieborough was horrible.

I went out for a solo spin this morning:... A short while along a silver car behind me blasted their horn to inform me that I’m causing them an inconvenience. I ignored them. And again (and I, being annoyed, wrongly gave the finger).

Whatever about giving a driver the finger after they have close passed you, I wouldn't dream of doing so when they are still behind me. You are in such a vulnerable position, as I'm sure you know, that the last thing you want to do is to antagonise them any further. Get a bike camera if this is a regular occurrence.

World bike day today so went to venture out for an hour but duly discovered the BB hanging off the training / winter / turbo bike. That gave me all the excuse I needed to go back to the couch!!!

An hour or so for me too , wind was a bloody nuisance. Wasn't a solid head wind, it varied from being little more than a breeze to a full on gust in my face and then decided it wasn't going to assist on the return leg and fecked off all together

Saturday did a spin from dublin to terryglass on lough derg in co.tipp. 170km in total and averaged 29.5km/hr which I was delighted with. Just a few minutes stopping in tullamore at 100 km and birr at 140km for water/grub on the way.

    All in 94 km.

I just went to Howth yesterday just to stretch the legs and get 50 in. I've taken to going up the Graveyard side and then taking the left for Old Carrickbrack road and going up Windgates. Couple of short sharp ramps there. Got caught in what I can only describe as a mini storm on the way back in

is there any way on strava with flybys to limit it to tell you about flybys from certain groups?
i.e. i'd be curious about other boardsies i might have passed on the road; i was behind one for a short distance yesterday, but really only know that because his strava username is also used on boards. would be handy if there was a 'show me flybys for the boards group' option.

Is there a link somewhere for the boards group?

June going on November it feels like. Got absolutely drowned yesterday, and some of my gear was still wet this morning. Even though it was dry I was actually cold cycling in for the most of it. Come on summer, where are yea.

For the second time in about a week I had the pleasure of being sat behind a truck carrying a load of fresh telephone poles. God I love that smell :)

He's one of the best amateurs in the country, it's all fast training rides and races this time of year. Not sure about this year but in previous years I've seen him out motor pacing.

A cracker of a day down south so ploughed through the days work to be be on the bike early for a 2hr training spin.

Left the house at 4.15 and headed towards Clogheen for a few efforts. A glorious evening and not overly spoiled by drivers on this route. As The Vee is covered in rodedendrums on full bloom I knocked out a few efforts on the climb, savage scenery though they tell me this flower is an invasive species that causes all sorts of problems.

70km done @ 32.8 avg with mind and body feeling great after it.

A handy chatty spin with Sean tonight, up embankment, left down Lisheen, manor Kilbride, back road to blessington, back via Three castles, manor Kilbride, right turn at brittas over ballinsscorney and home.
    46 km avg 26 kph 456m
    Dry but cool enough.

Far cry from this time last year. Had to put the heat on this evening For fear the wee one would feel the cold.

Tell me about it. Lit the fire for a bit of warmth. Pretty grim to June.
