Can't stand any of the rte radio stations. Listen to cuh fm. Just good old music and minimal chat. The odd lunchtime I'd listen to niall boylan

i used to listen to newstalk in the morning and occasionally off the ball before newstalk became Social Justice Warrior FM.

On the way home from work I used to listen to Today Fm and the last word from the time of Eamon Dunphy.

Although a trendy leftie I thought Matt Cooper was a decent host and ran a decent show.
Then when trump and brexit happened he lost his mind his bias became extreme and "huh huh huh trump" or "Donald Trump"(accompanied with his unique laugh/exhale combo) just started to grate.
    I haven't listened in 18 months.
You get better unbiased guff news off the foneshow ffs...

Joe Duffy has some classics on his show. The best comedy I live is when its not supossed to be funny.

The funniest EVER was the whingey woman, think she was called Ann, who came on to berate a cafe who charged her an extra 2 euro or something for a stir fry. The owner came on and hilarity ensued. It was quite possibly the funniest thing ive ever heard, better than any intentional comedy as the Cafe owner was bonkers and ended up telling a listener to drop dead.

Last week there was a segment that a Priest in Donegal was wtiting letters to his Parishioners "An open letter from the dead. . Thurned out his foloiw up was An Open letter from Jesus Christ.

That was gold. Texas Tom took out the scattergun and let rip at Ann and all the callers who rang in to announce they were appalled by him. Then called another caller a pain in the arse and said he was sick of permanently outraged people.

I can't warm to Ivan Yates in the slightest. He's a loudmouth & a low-brow populist, akin to Norn Iron's Stephen Nolan. His football banter with Phil Thompson is beyond cringe. Say what you like about Hook, but for all his bluster and Vera-Lynn-era frames of reference, he had a warmth and an essential decency about him that's utterly lacking in this boyo.

I constantly change stations until I find a song I like, it doesn't matter what station it is. I'm not a big fan of talk radio. I can't stand Matt Cooper's voice in particular.

Do you reckon in Miriam Finucan's head she's speaking sentences in less time than the whole minute it usually takes her to get through 8 consecutive words?

It's alleged that she can't even remember her own name.

Accidentally tuned into Lyric when that dinosaur Marty Whelan was doing his senile repetitive gobshyte drivel commentary the other morning. It quite made my day when the news/weatherman cut in over him & told him to shut up. The voice for the nation spoke.

His fall flat on his face 'coverage' of Bloom the following morning was pitiful. No wonder they want to cement the phoenix park over.

    Lot of Newstalk.
    Lyric in morning at times.
Drama on one on Sunday evenings if driving.
Niall Boylan for a few minutes a couple of times a month so I can convince myself I'm not the craziest person in Ireland.
Bill Burr, Eamon Dunphy, Irish History, Blindboy, Second captain podcasts.
    Youtube playlists and Spotify.

    I alternate between:
Pat Kenny, Sean O'Rourke, John Creedon and John Kelly. If I'm driving on a Sunday then its Movies and Musicals with Aedín Gormley on Lyric. Moncrieff has lost its charm for me. He is a bit too "woke" these days. Joe Duffy's show can be very unintentionally funny.
I cannot abide happy clappy morning presenters or any of those FM104 style stations.
When I want music in the car then I stick a CD in.

Oh my God. I'm old!! Not even a trendy podcast in there.

I do listen to Galway bay fm for the death notices.
They do a great death notice section.they turn it up louder than the news and sports
Public service ! Just making sure , catching wind of your death notice would surely cause a stirring . Some of them Galway People are awful stubborn .
