When does the vetting start as it seems to take the longest

I would have thought you got your vetting documents to complete before been given a PCA date. That’s how FT was anyway. If you’ve got your PCA date, I’d expect them imminently!
    Is it email or posted?

Who has completed vetting that can help me on a few, slightly specific, queries if I PM?

    Me!

I debating whether going to my 1810 PCA? Will it be worthwhile? Or will I get through the process quicker on 1710?

I’ve already passed all the stages and just waiting on 1710!

Today or in general? A few heard yesterday; seemed to be 100-200 merit numbers who heard

Think they have worked up into the mid 100's on the ML at least with emails for PCAs

Ive just seen on 1710 Thread... that theres probably a good few of the 1710s in the 1810 ML. Is this correct or accurate? Will this maybe help us that are higher (numerically) up the list to get reshuffled into a nicer position? Lol or am i just wishful thinking?

This is correct! At the assessment centre stage this year there were 231 candidates who also had applications in the 1710 campaign. This is confirmed in the freedom of information request found here:

    https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/assessment_centre_1810?utm_campaign=alaveteli-experiments-87&utm_content=sidebar_similar_requests&utm_medium=link&utm_source=whatdotheyknow

So there will be a decent sized chunk disappearing from the 1810 merit list as they will be appointed from 1710

Hey everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster. Never thought I’d end up posting on here but hey ho, wanted to keep in-the-know after being referred here by a course provider. I, myself, first time applying have found out that I made the cut. Shocked myself even with my score being waaayyy down the list (early 900’s) looking forward to seeing how everyone is progressing!

    Good luck everyone!

We're maybe too eager lol. Absolute latest I would imagine would be by next Friday? hopefully.

I dont think they are in any rush tbh. They have 230 remaining from 1710 and 114 fast track from 1810 with the next campaign estimated to be in Spring 2020.

I don't think they'll action vetting before medicals tbh

patiently awaiting PCA date, how many weeks roughly is it from receiving the email until the test? ... on another note, is anyone else partner terrified of you becoming a police officer? And how do yous cope... Doesnt help with a viable device being found under an officers car today!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 357 ✭✭MD4PSNI

Hey roughly 4/5 weeks from email to date. My other half like myself is aware of the dangers but we both agree the good that police officers do outways any fears.
    Hope that helps.
