Last I heard they were doing one but due to Wainwright's busy schedule they couldn't put a date on it.
Her latest thing, Gentleman Jack, is due to air this Autumn on BBC. So that's one thing out of the way anyway.

BBC One has released the trailer for Gentleman Jack, their co-production with HBO that is set to premiere this Spring.

Gentleman Jack tells the story of Anne Lister, who, after years of exotic travel, returns to Halifax, determined to transform the fate of her family and their faded ancestral home Shibden Hall – and to find herself a wife. The drama will explore Anne Lister’s relationships at home with her family, her servants, her tenants and her industrial rivals, who will use any dirty tricks they can to bring her down. At its heart is her relationship with her would-be wife, the wealthy heiress Ann Walker. It has all the warmth, wit, humour and complexity that audiences have come to associate with Sally Wainwright’s writing.

The eight episode drama series, which hails from Happy Valley scribe Sally Wainwright and is based on the diaries of Anne Lister, is produced by Lookout Point and stars Suranne Jones, Sophie Rundle, Gemma Whelan, Timothy West, Gemma Jones, Stephanie Cole, Peter Davison, Amelia Bullmore, Katherine Kelly, Sofie Grl, Vincent Franklin, Shaun Dooley, Joe Armstrong, Thomas Howes and Lydia Leonard. Sally Wainright, Sarah Harding and Jennifer Perrott are the directors. Phil Collinson is the series producer. HBO is co-producing and will air the series in the United States. The executive producers are Sally Wainwright, Faith Penhale and Laura Lankester for Lookout Point, Ben Irving for BBC One, and Francesca Orsi and Kathleen McCaffrey for HBO.

Really enjoyed this last night and going by the viewing figures in uk it has gone down well.
Strong cast and nice fast paced unlike some period dramas.

Loved the first episode and it's already far better than the movie they made about Anne Lister back in 2010-ish. I love Maxine Peak, but Suranne Jones has really captured Anne.

Suranne Jones has really grown, you'd never guess she was a soap actor.

Missed it last night. Anyone know does it get repeated during the week somewhere?

    Thanks.

That’s the worst about programming on the BBC hardly ever repeated and no catch up service available in Ireland.

I'm sure that there are posters here who could help you out with that.

Oh very good. I remember reading years ago about Anne Lister and thinking she was extraordinary for her time. I know this is highly stylised and aimed at a modern audience, but Suranne Jones does cut a fine figure in period costume. Looking forward to this.
