    Daytime; not creepy.

At 3am after a few drinks when said forest is totally silent (because a local cat had hunted anything that made a sound), and the path is fairly dark; creepy.

Someone been watching a little too much of the Blair Witch Project? :D

But seriously, manageable sized woods are fine...by day. By night they can be pretty eerie. But big huge forests?...nope. Way too creepy.

Just remember not to holiday in the new Center Parcs in Longford - it is located right in the middle of a forest!

Aha! We are all originally monkeys who evolved out of the forest so we are hardwired to sense danger/attack coming from behind the trees. Something like that..

I think it's more that we're still monkeys, who have evolved to be so terrified of our environment that we can barely tolerate living in it any more!

Forests seem to freak out city slickers.

Forests are the extreme, but I usually have to hand-hold my city-slicker visitors during the first days of their stays in my house. They just can't cope with all the unexplained noises and movement and weird lights in the sky! :D

There's no wildlife in any forest here that can do any harm, no bears, wolves, wild boars, nothing.

As for ghosties, you've more to fear from the living than the dead.

No poisonous snakes or spiders either! I hate snakes so very glad I live in Ireland!!
