Watched a programme recently on BBC 4 called the internets dirtiest secrets: the cleaners, 25,000 of them working in Manila, some of the things they describe is horrific.

There are an insane amount of pages in this thread. Not everyone will read them all. So no. Make your own thread if you need. We're not reaching a limit on allowed threads.

Allowing a billionaire oligarch monopolist to decide who has free speech and what opinions you can have is progressive apparently.

Wow the current far left are insane.

This isn't a free speech issue. He broke the rules on a number of platforms and was taken off.

He is free to sell vitamins and conspiracy theories on his own site.

What about users like PJW? (which I have already brought up on this thread). They are slowly wiping the slate clean of any right leaning personality. Nuts

Honestly I think people care way too much about what other people think. The article talks about it like it's some sort of crisis that one dude thinks the earth is flat, another has questioned aspects of the holocaust and another has doubts about 9.11. People are becoming tyrannical in what opinions they will tolerate from other people. Seriously, as long as no one evangelizing to you on a constant basis just leave other people and their opinions, no matter how unorthodox, in peace. No one owns the truth, we basically have no idea wtf is going on anyway.

I'm amazed at the amount of people who are completely ignorant of the concept of free speech. You should at least read the Wikipedia article about it so you know what it is.
You thinking a persons ability to post whatever they like on facebook is free speech, that's fúcking hilarious

I'm pretty certain you'll be as eager to avoid this as all the other erroneously complaining about free speech, but I'll ask anyway.

What is your opinion on Alex Jones own website banning people off its forum for saying things they don't agree with?

We do have an idea. The world is not flat. Certain people just have a high propensity to believe utter rubbish, sometimes it's harmless, sometimes it isn't (anti-vax)

Private social media sites have every right to remove the more ridiculous or harmful stuff

They don't actually believe in free speech, it's just a slogan.

Not right leaning personalities, hard right conspiracy theorists and bigots. Can you point to someone who was banned that hasn't engaged in pushing conspiracies or hate? Either the entire right is being attacked, in which case the entire right is represented seem to be like PJW, Sargon and Jones or there is a group of hard right people being banned because of their extreme views. which is it?

How far to the right are you when you consider PJW "right leaning"?

Please give me examples of where PJW has engaged in inciting hate or violence?

No. I never said he did. PJW falls in the conspiracy category.

Facebook stated PJW was banned for inciting hate, nothing to do with conspiracy theories. Facebook are now facing a massive lawsuit as they cannot back up their claims.

However it seems if you owned Facebook you would ban him for “conspiracy theories”. You would assume for a platform to ban a user for this that they would have to be churning out new and dangerous theories daily. Can you justify why he should to be banned for this?

Care to back up this massive lawsuit? Cause I would say it's extraordinarily unlikely.

Whether your left, right or in between If you can’t see how this is clear election meddling you may need your head checked. They are banning everything and anything pro-trump.

The fb employee responsible for handling last weeks bans was the former press director of “Hilary for America”.

But many will of course ignore these facts.

Because they are dangerous. Pizzagate resulted in a man arming himself and going to a pizza restaurant. Anti-vax has resulted in outbreaks of preventable diseases. Sandy Hook conspiracies have resulted in harassment and threats towards the parents of murdered children.

But to be fair, they don't rally need to justify it. If Mr Watson is happy to defend a baker for refusing service to someone based on their orientation, what's the issue with a social media platform refusing service to someone base don their political views?

This fact, singular. You only stated one. The rest is opinion. They obviously aren't banning everything pro-Trump because he is still on Twitter and it's not like there isn't cause to remove him.

I bet the same posters here, claiming splashuum post as a conspiracy theory to try and discredit him as a nut. Swallowed up the big conspiracy of the Trump Russian collusion.

Gavin McInnes could be next to get the chop on youtube. Ive watched a lot of his videos over the years and I cant understand why he would be a target! I think the term hate speech is being thrown around far to often.
